Katoa was very similar to Ice. Showed a lot potential at the Warriors. Just needed to get himself into a good system.
Always looked a goer 2 me, even at the warriors
he showed glimpses. Bellamy put the polish on it

Nah. 1.1800k a year for Leo Thompson? Overs.
Agree. Legs were massive. Seems to have trimmed down and lost pace and agression. Has turned into a more plod style runner. Just plodding along for the sake of plodding, just waiting to plod off to the bank to pick up his paycheck....for plodding.I don't think he's heavy enough these days
(I'm sure someone could /will find stats to argue otherwise)
But watching footage from his old days at the Dogs / Origin etc. He was thicker....
I don't he's been like that since he was at the Knights (Maybe looking to improve his minutes? and has been less effective since
Massive overs. May is on 600k. Haas and Fonua Blake on 1 million. Where does he sit in amongst that crowd?800k a year for Leo Thompson? Overs.
Although when i think about it the offer quoted is probably from his agent and not real and they're looking for something below that but above Knights' current offerMassive overs. May is on 600k. Haas and Fonua Blake on 1 million. Where does he sit in amongst that crowd?
Latu at centre and Mason off the bench potentially?Mason was good, Latu was middle of the pack however Saukuru, Faataape were last I did not notice Tumeth.
His first season was great and second season had injuries and couldn't get enough games back to back and went to Melbourne started slow then playing regular minutes went back to his warriors form he scored alot of tries in his first season at warriors great super coach buyKatoa was very similar to Ice. Thompson is available from 2026. If we set it up that Klemmer didn’t qualify for his option in 2026 you could then offer him that money (significant) plus multi years after that. If we wanted to go down that path. Would make for some elite middles. Not sure why the fanfare around Thompson. Not that he’s not a good player, but we are kind of stacked for middles atm. I doubt the club will be willing to pay big dollars when we have May, Klemmer, Hunt, Fainu, Twal etc. We don’t have to go after everyone on the market.

He will replace big Papa won’t he.He'd certainly be an upgrade on most of our middles,
800+ isn't ridiculous for him (Didn't we pay Hunt almost 600k?)
I see him going somewhere with Lower Tier Middles, He's the top dog where he's at.
Just can't see him Landing at the Raiders with the money Tapine has tied up there.
He's not going anywhere to play 2nd fiddle.
Him and May would be a good balance for us....
in Money and Output.
But we'd need to move Klemmer and Twal.
He actually was very average. Not terrible. Not great. Average. Barely broke a tackle, made about 60m a game. SUre he defended well but all in all he was just a solid middle. But he wasn't bog average at all. Perennially injured yes, but not bog average. It was people believing he was cooked and never on the field that was the main complaint.
I remember at the time he was rumoured to be going he was averaging the most offloads per run in the competition without a high error count. A respectable work rate and metres per carry and decent tackle efficiency. He offered more than any of our forwards but couldn't string enough games together to earn a starting spot.
Could be a player that actually /if/comes to us for under's.Is the tide turning or to soon yet? He'd certainly be an upgrade on most of our middles,

Was most likely referring to Eli Katoa, and yeah, he can play and is right up there amongst the best of them in my opinion anyway.are you talking about blore ? And Trent Loeiro has been a revelation now he’s been moved to edge , but best back rower in the comp ? Better than Martin? Better than Olakoatu? Better than young? Better than Angus Crichton? Better than Kikau ? I dunno bro …
Yeah I think it was yesterday and mentioned 10 daysaccording to my take on the article …. Someone has offered him a deal already which he has accepted , and they are going through the cooling off period now ? He will be likely officially be signed elsewhere for 2026 by Boxing Day ..
Id say he sits between amongst that crowd at this stage but is also only 24. Going to be a top front rower for a long timeMassive overs. May is on 600k. Haas and Fonua Blake on 1 million. Where does he sit in amongst that crowd?
Be good to get with a young squad as we have ,all moving forward as one ,certainly wouldn't get in a bidding war for himId say he sits between amongst that crowd at this stage but is also only 24. Going to be a top front rower for a long time
He's already signed a deal for 800k....Could be a player that actually /if/comes to us for under's.Is the tide turning or to soon yet?
