Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He's already signed a deal for 800k....
What's your kick back. I don't believe anything in the media until all n sundry have it in bold print,1st read 5 clubs were chasing him today ,yesterday it was 2 n he was as good as gone to Canberra ,didn't see our name mentioned in the 5 clubs, until someone plagiarized the initial story here, had fingers x'd we could be in the running. From Richo's word's if its about WT in the papers without a quote its BS.Ive no skin in the game, couldn't care less either way.Sorry bb went off on a rant. Are you saying he has signed with us for 800.,thats a bit steep

Well if Ezra Mam gets an $850 fine for drug driving while disqualified and crashing into a Uber then Taylan should be playing in the centres in round 1
I fine the courts penalty a joke , but u all know why he got hit with a feather , and I guess the NRL will also fold and give him another smack with a feather .
Just remember a player got 8 weeks for a name calling , Mann drug driving , no license and breaking a kids hip , should get months , BUT , well we will wait and see

You’re complaining about a decision made from a court of law compared to one that was made by the NRL. I don’t know why you constantly try to push a narrative against Aboriginal & Indigenous people but quite frankly it’s pathetic & you tried to do the same when this story came out.

He'd certainly be an upgrade on most of our middles,
800+ isn't ridiculous for him (Didn't we pay Hunt almost 600k?)

I see him going somewhere with Lower Tier Middles, He's the top dog where he's at.
Just can't see him Landing at the Raiders with the money Tapine has tied up there.
He's not going anywhere to play 2nd fiddle.

Him and May would be a good balance for us....
in Money and Output.
But we'd need to move Klemmer and Twal.
Hunt is on just above 400k.

Is Ezra indigenous, is Ado Carr, who stepped out of line before them, my memory is shot, a, white guy or an islander. Players are human ,court system is lenient towards all this day n age ,especially those on the tele. Its the way of life .My mate was 18 mths short of dyeing from cancer ,wrote his car of into a sandstone wall just short of Hawkesbury Bridge ,walked home ,harmed no 1 but him self .Lorraine Bailey a week later plowed into a supermarket at Linfield nth shore, she was Frank Gilmores wife on A Country Practice ,higher reading than my mate but less of a fine etc because she was stressed out over work commitments .life is never fair.Thank your lucky stars if good luck shines on you ,unsure if matey was out of line ,but woke should be called out also .No 1 is special or deserves a leg up - aren't we all equal

I'm sure once the arbitration process has finished, the club will drop a statement to advise the release of Miller.

Though in writing this, you are right, we have heard nothing official about Faagutu which is surprising as usually there is small statement from clubs about player releases.
Given Faagutu didn’t debut for the Wests Tigers I see no reason why an official statement would be made; I’m not sure I’ve seen other clubs farewelling a pathway player.

Apparently the Dragons have come in late with interest for Thompson
That’s nice, but he now has to reject the Raiders offer to start the process with either the Bulldogs or Dragons.
Just like the Jarome Luai situation last year. The day he held his press conference the deal was done, the 10 day cooling off had ceased or been waived (I can’t recall) but yet Bulldogs were still a chance theroetically but if it was the dogs he wouldn’t of been able to announce it that day as there wasn’t any official offer.

The 10 day thing is making it a bit messy.
Should just be able to get offers; club has 10 days to give best and final otherwise they are signing elsewhere.
However they shouldn’t have to disclose any deal with their current club and have the option to agree to terms with whomever fits best.
Maybe it is like that, there isn’t a lot of info really regarding home it plays out.

I dunno mate just posting what I read on other nrl sites

He actually was very average. Not terrible. Not great. Average. Barely broke a tackle, made about 60m a game. SUre he defended well but all in all he was just a solid middle.

And still is.
I'm not claiming he is a superstar or anything but I'd have him above average particularly in his time here. In 2023 he was the best offloader in the game (on an offloads/runs metric) meaning he offered something more than just solid work rate. He was also used in the middle as we had 2 international backrowers just signed to the club at the time.
He's got less need to create at Melbourne but still led their side for offloads. He is only average as a hole runner and as you note not much of a tackle breaker but he is better than most whilst still a long way off being elite (all obviously just my opinion).I stand by my take that he would be the best backrower in the club if he was at the Tigers in 25.

The only interest I have in Thompson is how much he signs for as a comparison with the deal we got with May.

Different style of prop to May but not convinced he’s better.

We need edge back rowers.
Agree. Thompson would be nice but he is already on decent $ and wants to be on high $. We have higher priorities than prop atm.

it could be an easy way to manipulate a close rivals (St G ,Dogs) cap without actually having to buy the player. In saying that the Nrl made a mockery of B Hunts medium average, for non retiring players its worthy of testing

Klem was a gun and I’ve always been a fan. But if we could upgrade to Thomo that would be good roster management.
As I said, it’d be nice. 👍🏻
I’m sure Richo and Benji would like that in a perfect world also.
The problem is Leo Thompson would cost us a million dollars per season to sign him, we haven’t got that much to spend and he’s not worth quote that much money either.

Leo is not worth that money and Klemmer i wouldn't be fussed if the club manipulated him out no matter how well he played this year. Klemmer deserves respect on 1 hand .Business wise he is surplus looking to the future, and easy to dump off the cap.Being a Tasmainian the 3rd hand says its not a way to spread family values amongst an up n coming team, unless those kids have been told/believe the future is in their hands

Surprised he didn't pull the racism card, "I've been hurt by being called a name," this is why I went off the rails.

It's all Spencer Leniu's fault.
