I think he could transition to backrow seems like the most likely in house prospect don't want a small second rower like Bateman more power needed.Yep I have a feeling Tim Johannssen would be a revelation in the backrow. I know @jrtiger strongly believes middle is his future but I just have one of those gut feels that this guy is a winner & would adapt like a duck to water with his attributes physically, in fitness & effort, and voice. Just a feel I have lol
Idk if that’s the best argument. So did Galvin last year.A lot of people getting uppety about losing 2 international second rowers, all I know is they played the majority of games for us the last 2 seasons and we came last both years. I won’t miss them even if they play out of their skins for their new clubs.
Richo said it in a podcast or interview recently @Kaito can't remember which one but I do remember said Sione is currently signed on a T&T until a spot open up or something like that. When did that happen Jnr? I understood that we're
looking to sign him up when we get the chance, not
as soon as the 1st spot opened up. Faith with the
other brothers would be lost though if we don't
honor our word, I agree with you there. He isn't top
priority unless he takes Jhonne's spot on the roster
Because it's Seyfarth & Sukkar from there on out if
we go down that road. Benji would have to transform
him. Geez bro a lot of questions for the right side smh
You could be right. They may look to use Naden or Mason in the halves to partner Latu and Latu developed to be more of the game-managing half and find his voice.Naden could do the job at 7 I'd like to see Mason at 6 he's got great speed and I don't think he's a fullback
.
One down, another comingExpect Bateman and Sullivan future to be finalised this week…By the xmas break for sure.......
Imagine a world where Benji's long-term thinking is May at lock with Thompson & Pole at prop. May just be an imaginary world!!!"The Bulldogs have gone cold on Knights prop Leo Thompson, leaving three to four clubs battling it out for the star front-rower's signature".
Yeah right. Nobody wants 2 take their funny money,
Canterbury Bulldogs have missed ALL of their targets,
can the rugby league media start talking about that...
We're good 4 now. I think there is a possibility that
we free up spots this week, don't assume Sione is
promised 1st spot either if something comes up i.e.
Taylan May/gun 2nd rower he'll be signed up but
might have 2 wait a bit perhaps but he'll get re-signed.
Sione Fainu will now get Batemans spot….contract announcement before Xmas breakRicho said it in a podcast or interview recently @Kaito can't remember which one but I do remember said Sione is currently signed on a T&T until a spot open up or something like that.

Behind the Roar click linkWhere was this?
100%. People who are happily spending Klemmer's money are off the mark, I'm afraid - as I said yesterday, if we're spending the Klemmer salary on a free agent it's because Galvin has signed elsewhere.Idk about anyone else, but I’d be more than happy to upgrade Fainu and upgrade and extend Galvin.

We do. But we also need to build smartly. We've now got some cap implications and upgrades to consider if we want to make a run for it in 2026, 27. We need to use the space now to free later. If that's clearing the cap hit from Sullivan or batemans exit or upgrading Galvin. We need an NRL quality second rower. Not a NSW Cup prop who isn’t even on a top 30 deal or played a single game at second row.
If we want to be a serious team, we need to take a serious approach to the team we put out each week.
Doesn’t Elliot play in the middle ?Yes a really fit and trim Tim would be a gun back rower , he has size , adaptability,,runs hard , the other one I heard was Adam Eliot free to leave Newcastle if he finds a club
YepDoesn’t Elliot play in the middle ?
Come on ur blaming Bateman for everything that went wrong at the club , I guess he also was the cause the nsw team got thrashed nearly every week , be real , yes he was poor in attack but his defence was good now we got to fill that gap with kids who can’t tackle , YES a thorn is gone but really we are worse if in defenceI honestly believe this was the move the tigers needed to make to turn the corner.
Bateman was horrible in every aspect. Culture, performance and effort.
His antics on the field would often impact the whole team. Nothing was more annoying than watching him catch the ball on the edge and step his way into the middle for 3 metres.
Bateman was a parasite which spread across the whole club.
I believe he was horrible for the club in terms of moving forward.
Extremely disappointing considering how hopeful and happy I was when he first signed but his effort and attitude has shocked me in the span of about a year from him signing on.
This is a monumental day and I strongly believe we are better off having Seyfarth play his heart out and getting penalised twice then Bateman try and be a hero.
The club has turned a corner
He would really be a bonus for us and not expensive, great suggestionDoesn’t Elliot play in the middle ?
Agree but where do we find that player not under the Christmas tree not much out there at the moment maybe for 2026 until then one of our players will have to adapt unless luckily one comes onto the market. We need an NRL quality second rower. Not a NSW Cup prop who isn’t even on a top 30 deal or played a single game at second row.
