Kicking game

This is something we need to focus on in the offseason. It's so important to the attack, and it's not just the halves that should be competent, you want a kicking threat across the park. Look at the top team's attack, everything revolves around a kicking game.

If we want to get off the bottom of the ladder, we need to level up our skills. Playing with intensity and effort isn't enough.

2 massive boots but both can finesse it in the in goal
as well. I'd personally flick sezer & keep bud though

Everything to do with kicking has to change. Not just the execution of our long and short kicking strategies, but also our kick chase, our kick returns, our pressure on opposition kickers, our defusal of opposition attacking kicks (high and low) and our short drop outs.
You are correct, its vital. Our defence needs more work, but this is right up there as well. I would limit the team's access to the footy at training until we see marked improvement in these two areas we are really poor in.

Keep Api away from the kicking duties, he’s a stop gap option.

100% our kicking game is really poor. Api is not a natural kicker of the football he’s hit and miss at best. Galvin has had some success with his short kicking game but it’s not convincing. Luai will improve the equation but as a group we have work to do definitely. A quality kicker can make a huge difference to your field position and your ability to convert it.

Api is fine to kick BUT should only be used very sparingly in that role

Bumping this thread because I think it's more relevant then ever. Our general kicking game in the field of play is terrible. We would score so many more tries if we had a competent kicking game.
