Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I think he'll be in the NRL 17 off the bench every week. TDS offers no versatility off the bench in 1sts, he plays big minutes in cup so when Api is unavailable he's motor is developed to cover him properly
True, but 80 minutes in cup isn't 80 minutes in NRL.

Hope we send TDS to the same MMA gym that Damien Cook went too. Seriously Api's ability + Cook's motor would be insane in a 9.

Actually one of the biggest criticisms of his game is that he didn't sniff around much. He hides out wide for the overlap play but didn't get involved the rest of the set. He needs to be buzzing all over the field all game if he's to be our long term fullback
IMHO, he is by far our best FB, and arguably one of the best defensive NRL's FBs.
Perhaps his support play is not as good as his predecessor, but not many are close to the JT!

We have the WORST defensive record in the NRL.

We cannot say what you have said.

Yes Bula has been better then our team at Defense. Still a long way to improve and a lot of growth in that area. Slater/Paps can read the gaps and have a better sense of where a team will move, JT, etc are far ahead of Bula... Bula will learn but a long way to go.

I’ve heard Harrison Hassett is likely to join us before the 2025 season kicks off.
To be honest I’m not convinced he’s any better than what we already have, but he did star throughout his junior rep career, so he might be ready to step up a level in 2025.
Heard the name mentioned a few times here, wheres he from and what position does he play?

As small as tumeth?
I think they are very similar in size.
In saying that I would much rather have a high energy, mobile, aggressive and fearless 97-98kg forward, than someone who is 105-110kgs but plays lazy.
So I don’t think lack of size is a problem, plenty of top quality back rowers are the same size or a bit smaller.
From what I’ve seen from Hassett he ticks off the high energy and mobile boxes, a slight concern on whether he is aggressive and fearless enough, but that generally improves with age and confidence.
