I remember reading a story from one of the guys in the Magpie fanatics that his marriage ended over his obsession with trying to get the Magpies back. Idk how you get so lost over this that you end up losing your wife over it, but this guy did apparently. This was around 2012-2013, and they still haven’t come back. So he sacrificed his marriage for nothing.

Im sorry but i don't believe that - i'm pretty sure there would have been a lot of other issues in that marriage and maybe his obsession with the magpies was the final straw. However if true then they probably shouldn't have married in the first place and are better off without each other. Your story was really sad but you could have embellished it with mentioning they had 3 kids and a baby on the way.

Your utter dislike of the Magpies is very obvious jirskyr, as it's not just now you have been beating the anti-Magpies drum.
When you have been bothered to reply to any of my posts, it's always been critical.
In fact, I don't remember 1 occasion where any obvious Balmain supporter has agreed with anything I have said.
It's always been the same insulting quote "You just want your Magpies back".

It’s a sad way to start our 2025 season with so many new faces who will bring results on field , then to see this club turn into a shit box as the season goes on , very very sad to see this happening but people just do shit that doesn’t make sence , The board at HBG really need to take a real look at them selves , 2025 you start as an absolute disgrace , Denny Burgess , Julie Remaro and the 2 dogs supporting you need to step down , you people are a total waste of time , you have no knowledge of running a football club, and only look at the whole job as a time you can wield power , Richo and Barry F will depart this club before the end of season 2025 under your leadership as they will not work for or under people who are out of there class , you are all poor performers , look back at the last 10 years , poor is a underperforming group that you have been

Guys, anyone who says this is about Balmain or anything related to Balmain is categorically wrong.

As much as I loved that team and club, for the Wests Tigers I’d shoot it between the eyes.

The club is already dead to me.

I supported Balmain from a very young age and I would think that would be obvious along with my great hate for Souffs.

My reason for being here is because Wests Tigers are my team and the 2 great Foundation clubs that joined to become the Wests Tigers are now a fond memory and Wests Tigers are the future.

For God's sake, can't we kill off this Balmain vs Wests, Tigers vs Magpies thing and put it behind us, it's been over 25 years, get over it.

I mean I have seen guys with Norths Tattoo's. We ofcourse had a few die hard Balmain and Wests fans.
It's a mental illness at that level. Yet hey, you do you and they can do them....

Just talk to soccer fans. Imagine Arsenol or Chelsea if the British comp tried to remove them?

We are a merged club, not a new club. We joined, we are one!

The club is Western Suburbs Magpies. Supporters to this day chant “Wests” at games. Wests is the name brought over for the merger. You can ask any rugby league supporter of any era and they will tell you this is how the club was predominantly referenced. The magpie of Western Suburbs wasn’t anywhere as recognisable, valuable, or successful as the Magpie of Collingwood in the AFL. If anything, it was associated with consistent struggle and failure in rugby league.

The decision was to brand the club Wests Tigers. A one-club philosophy has to be adopted in the senior grades. That’s what we all belong to now. We all have to be Wests Tigers. Continuing with Magpies in reserve grade reinforces the joint venture, rather than one-club.

My uncle took me to a bunch of wests games at c town in the late 80s early 90s.
I remember asking him , It must have been early 90s , so I was 6 or 7 , when driving to the game, “if Balmain are the tigers what are wests?” .
I honestly thought they were the fibros because that’s what my uncle called them .

It was the time of face slapping, wall punching and Roy Masters.
