Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

It can never happen. There's nothing behind anything. If they did talk to a N.Z outfit it shows how stupid they are the N.R.L own the licences and have stated the Wests Tigers aren't going to be split.

It's no coincidence al this is occurring with all the controversy regarding what was a non binding but largely already fulfilled review recommendations process.

If the NRL or another party is helping to fuel speculations in order to pressure HBG to deliver a certain outcome or force the club to sell WT it will lead to an equal and opposite reaction from Wests and HBG.

Nothing good will be achieved here.

Broncos made the GF only a season ago, Parra went from perennial wooden spooners to regular top 8 contenders & a GF appearance in 2022, Warriors made a prelim in 2023 & the Broncos only made a GF in 2023 & look primed for success for the next couple of years... the Wests Tigers? Haven't made finals since 2011 & are coming off 3 wooden spoons in a row. Look at all the leaks that have come out about the boards infighting, the nepotism amongst it & the clear unprofessionalism that's taking place & tell me how isn't change needed? All we we want is for the review to be fully implemented & for the WT's have independence from the HBG.
As my old man says, you either win the comp or you don't. Claiming a mega club like the Broncos are doing well despite not winning a comp since 2006 and a minor premiership since 2000 is an odd shaped yardstick.

The bleating about board independence is tiring. The board reduced from 7 to 4 a bit over a year ago and the (WT) club advertised for independent directors a few months back per the report recommendations.

The caravan has well and truly moved on. The only dogs left barking are a few now irrelevant Balmain and Wests Magpies agitators who nobody will listen to once we're out of silly season and start winning games next year.

You should probably address that question to Stapleton.
(I presume NZ would provide the finance. Balmain are providing the brand)
What happens if HBG said they were quite happy to continue as Wests Tigers. The NRL would probably keep Wests Tigers and Balmain would become an outer suburb of Christchurch and a feeder club to South Island Keas.

What needs to be discovered is if anyone else is providing encouragement to Stapleton? Stapleton is acting like Balmain has security from someone.....but who. They and he seem like there willing to burn their bridges HBG and the WT. Obviously his position is no longer tenable but HBG must get to the root of the issue.

Entertaining any consideration for a bid is treacherous to their relationship with WT and given Balmains lack of financial clout it is highly unlikely Balmain is acting alone.

I wouldn't be surprised if HBG appoint investigators.

The mere prompting will show all how serious the bid is and where the encouragement is derived from.
They love a good investigation down there. 😂

All except your first point were instigated by the petition/review process inclusive of Balmain's apparent laterly attempts to split from the WT.

The type of thing which I was initially concerned about.

BTRLFC hositily has been simmering for a while with HBG.

Re Magpies, Cavanagh had a run-in with HBG board members when Romero replaced Liubinskas as the Magpies rep on the WT board, without a Magpies board meeting held to ratify it. The magpies ended up suspending him, HBG out-voting the fc member-elected board members.

HBG have been throwing around their numbers ignoring good governance processes on the Magpies & WT boards for years. Now it's their own board. The Petition/review into HBG is long overview and only a few but very vocal fanbois like yourself and BZN are supporting them.

Man Utd have been a joke for a while now & you fail to mention that the fans have revolted against the Glazers for many many years now too. When was the last time Utd actually challenged for the Prem or the UCL?

When the petitioners claim they are done working with HBG then that becomes pretty much impossible.
It seems both sides are going all in on this and we will end up with a definitive winner and loser.
I can’t see how this will be good for anyone, especially if the owners don’t sell up.
Yes, and it seems @helmsey may have let one slip and made a tactical error.

Agree, very glad when the footy starts and this crap recedes.

Cavenagh seems to be all in favour of HBG and WM now. Saying that the 3 removed are the problem and Romero and Burgess are the way to go.
