Taking a wrecking ball to the club! (Recent Media Reports)

There are subtle cues.
Constant rubbishing of Burgess, (many posts based on the remarkably important hair style he has).
Maybe he deserves it. I can't say I know either way.

Stapleton is reported to be negotiating for a Balmain departure and the silence has been deafening.
I wonder why that is?
What do you reckon Balmain are going to depart with, they are lucky to own the clothes they stand up in

If people are having trouble understanding why this is so toxic to HBG and many supporters it's the above.

All parties want success and steps have already commenced towards this endeavour.

However fancy a segment of the fanbase seemingly hoping that by some miracle the government intervenes to create problems for one JV party which happens to own controlling interest and has bailed out and supported its Balmain partner to the tune of close to 15 million over the last 5 years in order to keep things nice, between the partners.

HBG and Wests Magpies will never sell. To get out and do what? We spend 15 million bailing Balmain to sell for what 20 million? To do what with it? Bring back the magpies? No. HBG want to retain investment in senior RL and have a strong interest in keeping the Wests brand within the WT visible inclusive within the inner west as well as the south west. RL is part of our foundation charter........to support Wests and now also Wests Tigers.

Unbelievable lack of empathy and understanding of what drives the motives of the parties especially considering your professional line of work.

Unfortunately this is toxic.

The relationship between Wests Ashfield (HBG) and Wests Campbelltown was toxic.

The relationship between HBG and Balmain Tigers RLFC is toxic.

The relationship between Magpies board FC member-elected board members and HBG-appointed members is toxic.

The relationship between HBG and Wests Tigers supporters is toxic.

The relationship between board members within HBG is toxic.

The common theme in all this toxicity s HBG!

If Stapleton was successful and the Tigers left and started with the Kiwi consortium what would that mean? Does that mean there would be two teams with Tigers in their name, the existing HBG owned Tigers would change their name to Magpies or some other mascot or some other iteration?
I don’t understand the machinations of such a move if it was to occur or if it even could.

It can't, NRL control the licences. It's not even worth wasting brainpower on, I have no idea why anyone is giving this nonsense airtime.

That NZ bid (that has already failed) have reached out to a lot of clubs, not just 'Balmain' (who have about $2 to rub together BTW).

There are no parallels with the major governance violations at Parramatta Leagues and its disingenuous to make an association.

Likewise with the early attempt to fuse the so called Magpies die hards in tne petition.

Unfortunately, lacking substance the petition organisers and some of their supporters are now using this thread to advance baseless claims and wild off the mark speculation in an attempt to further their cause.

I'm sure many who signed their petition wouldn't be all in with some of this.

Stapleton doesn't get a say....can get outvoted every time.
So yes, HBG run the board.
Let's hope so. He's reported as conspiring to split the club up.
Would you want other board members to agree with that?
Would you like the Balmain split to prevail?
Do you agree he should be permanently banned from the club if that is proven to be true?

You should probably address that question to Stapleton.
(I presume NZ would provide the finance. Balmain are providing the brand)

Balmain can do what they want. The ARLC controls the name Wests and Tigers. They've got [This word has been automatically removed] all

All except your first point were instigated by the petition/review process inclusive of Balmain's apparent laterly attempts to split from the WT.

The type of thing which I was initially concerned about.

I understand the NRL licence part I was more thinking through the hypothetical of why Stapleton would engage in these discussions at all if there was no potential.

To be honest, I’m so over the BS around both sides of the club wanting to be top Dog.
Just get on with setting the WT up for success and focusing on that and that alone

If it's proven that Balmain are conspiring to leave the joint venture and form an NZ partnership does anyone disagree that the people involved should receive life bans?

Should Balmain receive a Board member suspension at the very least as punishment?
As an ex Balmain supporter, absolutely should be banned.
Additionally, if there is a push to change the Wests Tigers to be Wests Magpies then those involved should also be banned.

Leave our NRL club alone and stop the factions, we are Wests Tigers.
