In theory you are right, but in reality it's a very dumb move for him to not re-sign based on wanting to see how the season goes. He is basically leaving a massive upgrade for this season and next (up to maybe 800-900k total). Its not like hes on 600 or 700k and his upgrade would be an extra 100k. He's supposedly on 250-300k the next two seasons, and im sure he would get anywhere between 650k-750k over the next two seasons if he was to upgrade and sign long term. All this hoo rah over nothing I mean you could forgive the kid for wanting to see how we go this year before committing to the 3 time wooden spooners long term. Come on people why do we straight away go into panic mode?
Anything can happen in professional sports and every player is one injury away from never playing again. all he needs to do is look at Flegler or even Simon Dwyer in the coaches box!
Even if the club doesn't turn around, Moses no issue getting a player out of contract early.
