I think we are both just talking about different scenarios in games.

I’ll add this. When your defensive line is set and you’re not under pressure defensively it’s more about the x’s and o’s. Structure, Preparation, video etc etc

When your knackered, maybe battling injury, and your arse is hanging out and the opposition has you stripped for numbers it’s about how much you want to make that extra 5% effort for your teammates. The mental side.

It’s a very unstructured game much of the time, particularly when you’re a young, ill-disciplined team like the 2024 WT.

Agree completely. Though if you put the work in on the xs and os you will find yourself in the latter position less often.

I agree. You even look at Galvin's junior career and he was a mercenary even then. He bounced around junior clubs until he landed at a team that went undefeated for years. Left Parra at the first sign of trouble.

I also believe there is a good possibility that Latu ends up a better player than Galvin. Galvin was always going to look good earlier in his NRL career because he is a bigger body. I also have concerns about Galvins long term position, particularly when he fills his frame out at 23-24 years old and is 6ft4-6ft5. He will likely be too big and slow to play in the halves and end up in the backrow just like Wade Graham, John Sutton, Sironen, Matterson etc etc.

He left Parra when they said he had no future.

I love Galvin, really think he’s a special player.

But honestly, for once we’re in a position to be OK if he does leave. With Latu, and even Sullivan as backup if we wanted him to return… we will be alright.

Of course my preference is for him to stay, but it’s far from the end of the world.

We'd also be able to get that gun 2RF without losing much in the halves with latu

I was thinking bring back Lodge, heck he may have played with Marshall...

He is not the 2RF we are looking for. Lodge is a prop, imho an alright one. He is one who did something super awful and I suspect he either was/is psychotic or medication caused a weird kind of schitzo episode.

We should have brought him back a year or two ago. 2022 when we needed strong people up the middle. Now? we have props and Locks. We need a highly mobile player, lets get exactly what we need.

I'd say in NYC he was off his meds and on crap he should have never taken mixed with to much to drink.

But I agree - he is a very tough player and to my knowledge hasn't had as much as a parking ticket since.

Don't know the guy, but on the surface if there is even a top 30 spot left (?), I think he'd be well worth signing. He'd cost nothing.

Ideally if we could get anyone in fantasy land. Right now Dale Finicane would be the absolute perfect signing for us. Workhorse, super reliable, leader. If he has a clone we need him.

Tigers are on the improve - at the top level and in the squad. I don't anticipate another wooden spoon in the foreseeable future and we should be pushing for a spot at the lower end of the top 8 IMO. Good times are ahead....finally.

Have a really competitive team that now have the ability as long as they have the desire, should be able to compete with anyone in the league. It'll just come down to injuries. If we get hammered like we normally do then we will struggle but if the injury gods are good to us I can see us surprising a few teams this year once we gel.

We’ve been really really unlucky with injuries the last , well 3 seasons . Our main issue was zero depth in the squad , so whilst we had competitive starting 17s, our depth was non existent . This has been improved this year by a lot , so I guess we will see .
I think that top 8 has to be the goal , but I don’t know if we will get there . The inevitable backlash is starting now re. “Are the tigers overrated?” . Who rated them in the first place ? Such a strange phenomenon the beats of the off season .

You sum up exactly what I think about Galvin.

Great player with good potential. I want to re-sign him, we will pay overs abit, we can stretch our cap. I don't want to ruin our cap signing him.

We will be loosing 1 of Galvin, Bula or Latu for sure.

It’s not breaking news to say we won’t keep both Galvin and Latu. With Luai obviously here, there is only one spot available for the next few years. It’s Galvin’s if he wants it, but it’s not looking like he does. Better start hoping Fainu is as good as some are claiming.

Next season '26 our depth should be well and truly restored with 8 off contract. Need to buy smart.

Other thing I'll say is if we do get hammered with injuries again, that'll be 4 years in a row. Need to work out where we are going wrong and put a broom through the whole department and rehire some fresh blood.

He's leaving his run a bit late to sign for good $.
looking back he probably should have accepted the reduced $ Manly were offering. it would have been better than a T&T deal.
if our squad was more balanced he would be ok for us.
However with only one spot left in the top 30..we really solid NRL level edge player.

Exactly. Baffles me how some want to sign more middles

You may well be correct about Benji - but we don’t know yet and will have to wait and see.
I am not convinced that their under performance was about Benji’s capabilities as a coach - more likely their own incapabilities as players.
Nof - sure he may once have played well for the Tigers but his last few seasons were ordinary and he became toxic.
Jof - great guy, great club man but an average player who would struggle in a top 4 side.
Bateman- has a track record for this crap and we are better off without him.
Paps- never wanted to play for us and only put in once he’d signed elsewhere.
Klem- needed to step up last season but often put in weak performances and did not show the leadership that was expected.
Uto- soft as and deserved a rocket you know where.
Naden- honestly for a guy with his NRL background he plays without any semblance of thought whatsoever. I don’t blame Benji for benching him and I’m sure 90% of fans don’t either.

He has won two spoons in a row from two attempts.
The evidence is clear.
