Who here actually supports Western Suburbs in the KOE NSW Cup?

Possibly,, but I don't think the Benjis and Munsters of the world know what they are going to do. They react to what they see and they know that they will have support or be able to hit a runner in different parts of the field so they just react and then the support picks them up. As far as a playbook- maybe two up for a Munster on the left post? 🤣
Expect the unexpected in the recent past our support play has been poor.

Well regardless of what sort of reasoning produced that outcome it's fair to say that it doesn't suit present day circumstances. Both parties should realise this after 25 years?
But it only involves one party not two. Maybe they need to rip up the original agreement and re write a new one. I'm just pointing out that there is a legitimate reason that Wests Magpies exist at KOE level. Maybe you can get a petition together to change it.

Hiw does the funding work for reserves? Is it NRL? Who employs the staff for reserves? Is it West Tigers or Magpies?

I might have heard it wrong but pretty sure BOF said on his latest SEN interview the HBG puts in $280K to Wests Magpie juniors and $80K to Balmain juniors. It doesn’t seem a lot ( about the equivalent to one average NRL players salary).
Not sure how much the NRL puts into pathways.

I’ll support our feeder club whatever they’re called. Getting them contributing quality depth is way more important than the emblem on the strip.
Totally agree.
But like getting rid of the barber shop, professionalism is the go, and one united uniform would be a fairly easy change and shows a united professional outfit.

Winning in all grades is paramount.

If there is only one party then the question becomes even more unanswerable.

The key to paying unstructured footy is structure. I know it sounds like gibber but players, outside of the unstructured playmakers, need to run lines and be in postions so the Benjis, Munsters and Luais of the world know where to hit once they have done their thing. If the side has no structure it just becomes a mess of headless chooks.
Nope it doesn’t sound like gibberish, I’ve seen plenty of well structured teams lose. It’s great to have a few unpredictable players in the team coupled with an abundance of high footy IQ players, who have played together for a few seasons.
I’m hoping Benji takes a step back and gives the players more control over their own destiny. Now is the time he can be the coach he said he would be.

Gosh, such a pity there are only 2 choices. 😉
What if we were to look at what it is that makes a winning team?
They got the spoon last year mate.

Come from the Wests side of the JV but think all teams ( including Matt's and Ball ) should play under the WTs banner
I have no idea if this is correct but there might be too many juniors and 2 teams per comp might be needed can't have both named Wests Tigers how do the riff approach it with their big area.

You see it's not about what they're called so much as the message it continues to send.

So the magpies schedule has come out and surprise surprise they're practically not playing a single double header with our NRL squad. HBG continue to drive a wedge at Wests Tigers

This means that our fringe NRL players won't be with our NRL squad on Matchday. Won't be on hand to be on standby in case of injury, won't be taking part in first grade warm ups etc. Instead they'll be segregated in a tiny old run down oval across the city, not feeling like they're part of one club, not one family, but because some old fossils want to continue to see their precious magpies they force this division within our squad.

Our players suffer, our members suffer, our fans suffer. The only ones who win are the HBG board members and the 2-300 odd people that can be bothered going to a crappy old ground like Lidcombe.

We should be able to watch all three grades at the same ground. If there's an injury our top flegg players should be able to be in the bench in NSW cup rather than someone from Ron Massey. We should be indoctrinating our top cup players into our NRL Matchday experience, have them be inspired by first graders and their standards.

There is nothing to gain and so much unity to lose by continuing this crap with the magpies. It's not just an emblem, it's a message of disunity about our club and that we're still not over our petty JV squabbles

We can only dream for this level of critical thought BB. It will take the 700 Wests Magpies members to release their grip on mediocrity.

Out of interest, how often are reserve grade games played before NRL for any teams these days

Oh how I miss the good old days under 23's, reserve grade then 1st grade extended day out at the footy.

I used to love it,my day at the footy would start just before midday talking to the same group of people before the first game started at 12pm.Then 3 glorious games of football as you watched the young blokes developing their skills with a mixture of hardheads to guide them culminating in hopefully a win in FG.I really miss those wonderful days
