I mean Really? Easts lost the cheese and most of their halfbacks.. No difference.
Newcastle had huge injury issues.
Penrith had their 5/8 playing halfback and still got the trophy. (should sign that guy *sic*)

Look sure AD has been out injured through most of 2022/2023 and parts of 2024. That doesn't change us getting the spoon.

Olam, had missed some games through injury. Now I reckon he plays a factor in setting up a strong backline... Even then I still don't see many games changing.


Our injuries have not hurt our team. Our lack of talent has, and the fact that our first grade side had too many fringe grade members.

I agree we did lack the talent, also agree that every team gets hammered with injuries at times. In all honesty though when was the last Wests Tigers season you can remember where our top starting team hasn't been smashed with injuries. I can't, prob 05. Every team goes through it occasionally, we seem to go through it consistently

I wonder if we had flanaghan now working with Richo how diffrent things would be. Totally hypothetical, but I think he could have got more out of the squad last year, though in saying that I don't think we sign the guys we sign who seem to want to play under Benji.

The club only set on this trajectory of shame once Sheens and Benji were appointed to succeed Madge. That was the catalyst.
My point was people are making excuses for him based upon roster. He had a lot to do with said roster.

Not sure about that Tucker imo the club was on a down hill slide once Cleary knifed us. In truth looking back the whole org wasn't properly set up from the merger, hopefully now with a unified more professional and independant boardroom, they can start making better strategic decisions for our future.

You cannot prove that in a lab or look it up in a historical journal. It did not happen and cannot be proven as a fact.
I get we love The Benj (no one more than me), but seriously if you don’t think that a couple of the, (arguably), the best modern day coaches wouldn’t have achieved a different result then you are kidding yourself. Sure with the same roster they may not have won the 2024 GF but to say it is “fact” that the same result would have happened is just ridiculous and totally illogical to me.

And you could also say that if Benji was at the Roosters or Melbourne with their squads/ resources/ culture that he would likely have got a better result as a coach than a wooden spoon. We will never know either way.

God you spew some crap when it comes to Madge. Try to use some critical thinking for once. Why do you think we had to go for the likes of Leila and Robert and overpay Brooks. Could it have been because nearly a quarter of the cap was locked up for 80% of his time here and had to look in the bargain bin and backend Brooks contract?

Madge was stuck with Mbye the whole time, Packer for 3 out of his 3.5 seasons, Reynolds for 2, and Mautalino for 1. We were still chipping in a big chunk of change for Mbye until the end of 2022 after Madge was sacked FFS

Funny how we were able to sign Api and IP for 23 when all those contract were going to be off the books by the end of 2022….

IP and Api weren't signed until Sheens was back involved at the club though too don't forget. Madge did not get any decent signings prior in 4 years
