Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Just never forget at the end of the game when we won after seeing the amount of line breaks Brisbane made I thought it was a miracle and had convinced myself then we were destined to win the comp. We defended our rings out.
Far out look at that game!!!

You have the Broncos with Petro, Webcke, Parker, Carroll, Thaiday, Hodges, Lockyer, Karmichael Hunt...
and we win 4 tries to 1.

I miss that wests tigers side.

I don't know if this is a deliberate Cleanup or just him Rubbing some high performers the wrong way.

Talent wise, he clearly let some really good players walk. Punting Lomax for Bird/Suli was probably a mistake and then punting Bird doesn't make sense. Pushing Hunt out though seems like he wanted a rebuild/try something different...

Yet that matters less, we seem to be able to sign good talent for overs. But we don't get the good performance out of who we sign. The Dragons had a nothing team and were looking at the spoon.

Flanno's biggest failure was allowing player signing/contract strife to derail a finals appearance. Far better position with a worse roster then we had IMHO.
Agree totally thing for us was and had always been mo accountability, how often have we all at times grumbled on the forum that a player isn't performing and should be dropped, even if the cupboard is bare to just send a message and it never happened. We never really required the players to own their performances and demand they have professional pride in how they play. We were always seen as the Super top up you take if you didn't like the cold English weather.
Up until now though, the breach notices leading to this off-season is really the first time the players were put to the fire. Richo seems onto it and nodoubt Benji aswell. Once we hold the blokes responsible for their performances and take measures when nessisary then we will no longer be seen as a retirement home.

Crazy cat like I said it was a miracle mate. I still remember screaming for my old man to tackle one of the Broncs when they made a line break and I thought they were on their way to score. He's like what the f am I going to do. Haha.

From Memory Benji saved the game with a great tackle Darren Smith on the tryline. So much for those who questioned his defense. Maybe earlier on his defense was sus but later he was a great contributor and helped us to a GF.

IMO if we don’t make top 8 then we still have more dead wood to move. That is the players paid to play 1st grade but really at Reserve Grade level if that. You need a field a solid team of 13 to win. 10+3, 11+2 or 12+1 won’t’ cut it. Well in recent times we weee playing 8+5 and I am being generous. And the results well…you will get the spoon , as we did.
I get wooden spoons from mates here in Brisbane each year because I hate Qld and the Broncos and wear tigers colours to any event I can - I tried to upload a photo of one finished its work with breakfast this morning but too large size. At least they get used and give me … inspiration?

I'd rather keep the Fainu's happy and play Latu at right centre
Anyone seen if latu is training at centre at all?

I do what I do every year. Hope like hell they win a few early games. We had a really good record for winning round one games up until a few years ago.

Last we lost the first game then won the next two … then it was forever to win another one.

For me, at this stage, I’d be happy winning one/losing one for the first few months. Losing week after week sucks.

I’m astounded at how many people think a 25 or 26 degree day is hot. I’m on the Central Coast and it’s been a pretty mild summer, imo. December was pretty good, but January for the most part has been crap. I haven’t had the aircon on at all. Yet everyone around me will still tell me how hot it is and how they can’t wait until it cools down. I’m pretty sure they don’t know what hot really is 😂
Agree, I’m a little further north, but I love the heat, and the summer. Give me 30+ and I’m not talking about SPF.
I hate the wind, ruins everything.

2/3 more good signings for 26 and where pretty close mate.
Agreed, but as for 2025 the likes of Klem Twal and a few others will do a job and have a dig but at their very best are still way off the pace with the top players.

Although it’s all about the collective effort across the 17 and who knows what we might see. On one hand Iam optimistic about what this team is going to achieve in 25, on the other hand I still think our forward pack is not top eight and I worry about blending so many new faces into a formidable outfit.

Yes would agree. So can I ask you did we have a great defense in 2005? Also I have heard the forwards moving forward win games. We haven’t had that for many years…let’s hope we have some of that is this year. And so who is the defensive coach so that I can either praise or scream at depending on results? Do you know?
05 was a bit of an anomaly....we played the rules of the day to perfection. The NRL changed the ruck the following year making it as slow as a wet week

I wouldnt call our premiership a ''succesful campaign". Yes, the final 12 weeks in season 05 in between some very mediocre seasons between 2000 and 2010.

Penrith have had a very succesful campaign, Melb///always thereabouts...
Ours was a flash in the pan

We just caught fire for half a season and luckily took full advantage of it.

weather whiners ,Tell them a positive about the heat is in a few months you wont have to hear how hot it is ,Because most people will be complaining about how cold it is .Ask them if they will be 1 of them, Soon sorts the habitual sooks

same sort of flash in the pan with Ivan during the "rules crackdown"
