Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Bulldogs sign Warriors second rower Zyon Maiu'u effective immediately.

Dogs sign another second rower that they don't need, yet we are starting the year with Seyfarth likely starting in the back row.
1. The bloke is a prop.
2. The bloke has played 1 game of 1st grade, do you think he would be in our starting side for round 1?
3. Seyfarth finished the year strongly and will continue to improve with the side on the up.

This was the guy you were talking about wasn't Vicious
I was talking about Logan Spinks who I believe is a replica of a young Boyd Cordner, but Finau is a big unit and mobile for a back rower, he would be good to get back from the Bulldogs.
They have another monster young back rower with size and mobility similar to Kikau, his mane is Sosaia Alatini.
Gus has done very well in stockpiling young talent, but they can’t all play NRL for the one club.

I’m pretty sure Zyon Maiu’u is a prop, not a second rower.
Regardless it’s a good signing as he’s an extremely aggressive and mobile young prop who looks to have a stack of potential.
If we are smart we would be already putting the feelers out to sone of their talented players who will likely not see much NRL with the Bulldogs in 2025 in light of their recruitment drive.
He has come through as a second rower and primarily played as a second rower. He only started playing through the middle for the Warriors last year and that was because they are stacked in the second row.

He will probably end up in the middle for the dogs considering their current roster.

Richo will be sniffing around that dog's roster for any unhappy 2RFs.

There you go Richo if you're watching get to work.

I dont know why people seem to think Seyfarth finished the year strongly... Was it because he scored one decent try, that was created by Latu?

From what I remember he almost single handedly lost us the game against Souths at the back end of the year and was in the top 3 of worst disciplined players in the entire comp (penalties conceded to minutes played). He also let in soft tries when playing at second row at the back end of the year from rushing out of the line, leaving his half and outside backs isolated.

He has been in the squad for years now and his discipline and decision making has progressively gotten worse, which is very concerning.

I'm with you on this one Canadian Club. He's seems to have a cult following on here for reasons I'm not sure.

would you have rather we signed Tupouniua?

Would you your thoughts?
I prefer sticking with Seyfarth as he has better stats when compared to Tupouniua

My thoughts on Seyfarth is that his whole career he has been stuffed around and never had an extended run in top grade at just 1 position, he runs a great line he can offload and tackles at a good rate.

He brings a lot of fire, aggression and passion to our team and although that sometimes turns into errors and penalties those are things that can be taken out of his game if he can have some more consistency

Romey won't stand for any brainfarts this season another year wiser hopefully.

They beat souffs at campbelltown and lost to them at Gosford. The Gosford loss was on Bateman and Lualilii. Most the penalties he gives away is when the game is gone and he is frustrated, such as his sin binning in the Dogs game. Doesn't hurt the side at all. He got picked in the PM13 so the selectors obviously thought he finished the year strongly.

I thought I saw his discipline improve, there were times he was making a concerted effort to put his hands up and pull away where previously he would do something dumb that would attract the attention of the ref.

It was as if he was making an exaggerated attempt to show the referee that he was not interfering with the player or doing anything that he should not of been doing because it was starting to look like he was getting a bit of a reputation with the referees.

As others have said, just let him concentrate on that right side second row role if we don't or can't attract anyone better in the mean time.

I think he has something to offer if given the chance and if we choose to persevere with him.
