Every NRL teams top 30 has 4-5 youngsters that their respective clubs are gambling on to fulfill their potential, many of them don’t live up to expectations.
I do agree that over the past 3-4 seasons we look to have gambled on a few young players with top 30 contracts way too soon, but I don’t begrudge the club giving some of our better performed young players a chance, particularly ones that have played for their state at u/19’s level such as Matamua.
I’m not ruling out that he comes of age and starts to fulfil his potential in 2025.
