Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Wow what's wrong with Joey Manu, doesn't like the food, who could resist a piece of fresh yummy Blowfish.
My wallet would.
Went on a business trip 12 or so years ago and got taken to a fugu restaurant. Pathway in way over ponds of fugu that were huge.
The sashimi, and deep fried parts were great. The liver and skin dish - Hmmm, one bite and dutifully pushed away. Like eating baby poo combined with sandpaper. My wife later told me it's the most-prized part and the most expensive - should have doggy-bagged it for her.

They really do have an odd cuisine of exotic dishes over there, me I'm happy with snapper and prawns, consider that a delicacy.

I'm a threshing machine when it comes to food. I've at least tried most foods offered in Japan from whale (didn't know it at the time) through to sea squirt (tastes like petrol when old but can be great). Had grasshoppers preserved in soy sauce one night but they didn't make it past my jaws of death before being ejected (mate scoffed the whole plate).
Only a few things I can't stand - chokoes and cauliflower being the main two. Mum boiled the beejesus of out when young and I've never recovered from that.

As individuals we all have different tastes glad you didn't add ants to the list that would make anyone feel heavy in the stomach, as for chokoes and cauliflower don't mind them with a cheese sauce.

Haha. Yeah, Chokoes only good for throwing at someone.

Olam appears to be yet another WT gamble that has backfired. When will lessons be learnt.
Hope Toa can stand up this season as he appears to have the makings of a decent Centre. Maybe Bird is other Centre unless someone puts their hand up in State Cup.

I can't remember what I said about the Olam signing at the time - but I'm never that keen to pretend to know better than the club, I'd just imagined they do the due diligence with things like this. If it's just bad luck fine, but considering the talk around him at the time.... smells like an awful stuff up.

I believe Blore (who was a keeper for mine) was always on his way out so that was more out of the clubs hands, but the trade was silly.

Medical retire him and buy Joey Manu once his season in Japan is done

I've had pickles squid guts in Japan- the first mouthful ok .Second tasted like squid guts. Fugu delicious though.

We were desperate for a centre, club is looking like they made a crap decision in hoping he would get over the injuries.
Understandable. Shame Olam has been injured or suspended so much.

Certainly don't blame them for giving him a try - the squad is desperately short of good quality centres and imo (when playing) he is far and away the best they have.

I hope it's not too serious, but if so I'd pick To'a and Naden. Could also have a lame Bird (duck to be precise) in the mix for a nice feeling of continuity.

Could also look to Suruva?

Gawd...dire.

I have seen Naden play well, but he is so inconsistent and when he is bad he is REALLY bad.

P.S., No, I didn't forget Doueihi....
