LIVE GAME All Stars: Indigenous v Māori All Stars

Live Game Discussion
Just saw a replay of the Naden try saver. He looked like he was cruising, his speed is deceptive with his big strides.

He'd be an absolute flyer if his legs were moving as fast as the guy he tackled.
Naden should have scored that try by diving earlier.

Sounds like he had a good game.

Looking forward to seeing him in the second trial match next week

What about the comment from Naden,
Thurston talking about his chase and still showing some speed and Naden replied yeah I hope someone from West Tigers was watching and I don’t have to do any running this week.
Speaks attitude to me or lack of it,
Looking for a rest already.
Instead of yeah I’m training really hard this offseason to improve my involvement in games.
Or something like that instead of looking for a short cut.
I would still be happy if Naden is in our reserve grade and only used in first grade to cover injuries when required.

Naden has always had the size, speed and talent, just never had the right attitude to switch on and play somewhere close to his best on a regular basis.
I can’t help that think a good coach who gets the best out of wayward stars such as Wayne Bennett would have got a lot more out of Naden throughput his career. Benji wants to be a Bennett clone, so if he can get a player such as Naden firing it will be a good start.

Naden looked the best outside back on the field for most of the match when at centre. I don't think he was 'unlucky' not to score late he doesn't (or in that moment didn't) have the acrobatic finishing ability of an elite winger. The good wingers find a way to keep their legs up when planting the ball for a try. He could well earn a centre position but keep him off the wing in my opinion.

Porter looked a step below pretty much all the other forwards on the field. He didn't do anything wrong as such just was beaten physically by better players in almost every collision. Genuine reserve grader.
I thought that the play makers cut porter out a lot , they used him as a decoy a lot , his defence was good

Means even more to the players who get to use it as a week off their suspensions. A shame Api couldn't qualify.
Whilst ever Origin is counted as a suspension there is no reason this game should not also be counted. Both games do not give all players a chance to be selected/suspended.

I would like suspension only be forced in the NRL competition
(Finals included) meaning a suspended player can play in trials and also in SOO and Test matches.
If a player gets suspended while playing a trial then that suspension would be served in the NRL
Suspension in SOO or a Test gets served in that competition
Eg 3x games would equal the next 3x SOO games.
This will never happen but we are all allowed to dream 😴

Origin is for the elite ... not so much this game.
Not sure why it being for the elite matters?
If the argument is the elite should be able to claim additional games for suspension, then the 2 players that were suspended are actually elite Origin players. If the argument is that any player, if good enough, can play Origin then it is simply not true for the non-eligible, Kiwi for example, players.

Ok, let me put it this way then… this game is simply an exhibition.

I don't believe trails should be counted.

The NRL should be smarter and more consistent with suspensions.

Api shouldn't be out for round 1 2025

The bleating from the media over the last 2 years about players not being suspended from GF's irks me. Rules are rules and need to be enforced equally for all
