1st trial thoughts?

There was a lot of hype around Lobb this time last year having just come from the Dragons. Scored a good try in the first 5 mins of his debut, coincidentally against the Dragons. Then was never sighted again in the next two or three games he played

I think if you kick to him regularly he’ll get you tries, be also costs tries.

I think his height deceived people. You see him and he looks like an athlete. Yet in reality, he’s just a plodder.

Warriors Thrashed Storm
Dolphins Thrashed Cowboys
Dragons, Eels and Sharks won by big points too.

Our game vs the Bulldogs.. Seemed like a fake trial. TDS was CAPTAIN!! What on earth is going on.

Basically it was our reserve grade vs Dogs reserve grade.

Yet
Solomona Faataape really has put his hand up. Last year he was a real surprise, not saying he was great but for someone we expected nothing from he really seemed to perform.

Curious if people felt that Feledy was the issue or was Lobb just no good at all? It seems that Faataape will be wearing out my A key on the keyboard because he has picked himself at Center, Skelton likewise should hold the wing spot. Throw out the other two.

We seem to have a bunch of fringe graders that just need a huge Cull. Starford Toa tops that list with Lobb aswell.

Also, on Toa - I think he’ll do well this year. Always liked him - he was a superstar as a junior, if now that he has better halves I think he’ll excel.

He gives me the impression of a gentle giant, have to overnight find some mongrel just can't see it happening I afraid fire up the shredder.

He won’t be anywhere near FG. We’re only talking about him now cos we just watched a pretty weak line up run around and we need stuff to discuss. Come round one, you’re not going to read his name anywhere.

This time last year there were 3 or 4 people on here predicting Lobb to be on the wing in FG for us each week,i honestly don't think any of them had watched him play (i had watched him at the dragons in reggies and he was the same there).
I don't dislike him but i can't see him ever being FG standard

If Lobb plays first grade we are in big big big trouble

Cronk the gronk. I’m not usually someone who plays the victim card with the “So and so hates us”, but Cronk is someone who truly does. Something about the way he talks about us. I’d describe it as subtle disdain. Though, I think that’s how is with any bottom club. He’s an elitist.

I was watching the panel yesterday during the delay the in the Manly-Souths game and they briefly talked about us. Walters and Mal were pretty enthusiastic talking about Luai, then it gets to him and it’s “Yeah, but he won’t have the players giving him time this year, not as much quality ball, players won’t be pushing up, he won’t have Cleary bleaching his pubes etc etc”. He didn’t have one redeeming thing to say.

I think Luai will miss Yeoh more than anyone. We don’t have anyone even close to filling that role.

The gronk is only in love with Easts and Melbourne always has stars in his eyes when the conversation turns to them needs to put on a rubber red nose maybe that will make him more likeable.

I think Luai will miss Yeoh more than anyone. We don’t have anyone even close to filling that role.

Yeah no doubt.
Nathan’s ability to be clutch in massive moments will be missed as well. That will add a lot of pressure.
He’ll likely have to adjust his play which will be tough after so much sustained success with those guys.
