I would like to see how Mason and Bula go in the first 12 weeks or so

Might be the case Mason takes over as no 1 and Bula moves elsewhere in back line

Between them, they are a good fullback.
Bula is safe under the highball, and deceptive as a runner. He is also very error prone and doesnt seem to do a good job organising the defence.
Mason is not a natural fullback in any way but has an explosive turn of speed and isnt afraid to put his body on the line.
It could be that neither are our fullback moving forward or that they both are capable. Hopefully they bring the best out of each other this year and we end up with a definitive answer come October.

That sounds like a very big call M. While I have no issues with Mason, if Bula is fit surely he plays FB and Mason possibly bench.

No, not at all. Im really hoping Bula can reach his potential. A lot of things in the game come naturally to him and are almost effortless. That is a sign of a player who could end up elite.
Im hoping Hodgo and Ingliss can get him there.

IMO he’ll never have any knee problems again. Look at Teddy, was so injury prone but then came good - but then again he left us for greener pastures !

What did you think of that young fella that came on in the second half of trial tall fast a mile away of course but good to see potential coming through, as for Bula really want to see a good season now

He was interesting. Still a work in progress but he has something that can be worked with. Look forward to seeing him in the senior pathways this year.

He's a good lad coming through the system, miles away from 1st grade.
