LIVE GAME Preseason Challenge v Eels

Live Game Discussion
Lomax usually has a field day against the Tigers.
Was well contained last night.

Looking forward to our next game against Parra to see how he performs.

Anyone see him slam Galvin though?

Yeah the slam.
I think it will be harder for Lomax in the centres, but next time we see him it will be with Moses and Brown so would expect it to be better than last night.

Exactly right.
Need a strong game plan for that game.

My verdict:

We don't need to worry too much about depth this year, a solid hit out by our new buys and our young guns. Handling:

I wouldn’t go that far ….

The depth at hooker , halves and prop is fine ,,

I’m not as excited about the other positions … really need a second rower to fall into their laps now ,,,, the depth at 13 and wing looks a little skinny …

Real shame about Naden ..because our centers are weak,,,who knows what is happening with Olam? Toa never does anything , and whilst Doobie went ok yesterday ..we all know he has consistency and defence issues …

Still -Pretty happy with the guys they have brought in - Even Bird who I was concerned about ….They look fitter and their defense has improved ( more required though) .,,

Doohie defence on first try was shocking mis read and then didn’t follow when he could have had a second attempt easily - was woeful. Their fullback is slick. Douhie stood out in attack and kicked very well. He is a first grade competitor but must fix his defence/defensive effort as 90% of us know

May was exceptional. He and Pole looked great and then Hunt came on for Pole and boom, more impact. May looks like he could play 3 games straight and not get tired. Phenomenal front row talent. He will be better than AFB because he is a bit more aggressive. There will be the odd game where Benji simply can't take him off and he will play 80 minutes
Fitness is critical

That's evident in all the top teams.

Latu has that soft touch of class that only comes naturally to a few. Personally I have no doubt that with Api at 9, Luai at 7, Latu becomes the best option at 6. Our attack would be scintillating, smooth and straight.

I know that won't happen because it means Galvin will sign elsewhere, and like everyone else I don't want to lose him. He is a top talent and top competitor. Not to mention a local junior. This is going to be an interesting time to see how Benji keeps both Latu and Galvin happy. Lachlan looks a hell of a lot stronger this year and a move to the pack could be sooner than we first thought (maybe only another year before he could handle it). Would he be happy with that though?

We looked great when both Latu and Bird were on.
Think Galvin is a Parra junior
