I still would have had T'oa over Faataape in the centres. I also still have concerns over Doueihi's defence though he did played himself into selection for Rd 1.

Doueihi made it because with Api out we don’t have a goal kicker, if he has a shocker he might not be there next week.

There you go, a bit of a twist. Club was able to successfully argue that Latu is not a hooker and that due to APIs suspension and TDS durability that Hope can be given a debut.
I suspect that unless he was upgraded our bench next week will feature TDS when Api returns.

He plays Hooker and he was decent for us in both trials.

lol jumped the gun with that 1 after seeing he has been upgraded to a dev deal.
Even more likely to see Hope feature in place of TDS next week now.

Agree. It looks like we’ll be running with two hookers this year which I like. If our halves are as good as advertised I want slick service in getting them the ball.

I have no issue with Latu playing full games in reserve grade for a few weeks and see how things shake out.

I thought Hope was on a train and trial deal and unavailable for R1 selection.

Regardless, I feel like he did enough to warrant selection from trial. I would be picking him ahead of Latu for this match.

It's really gonna come down to our forwards efforts if we want to walk away with 2 points.

Clubs put out an article confirming he’s been upgraded to a development deal. Otherwise you are technically correct as he wouldn’t have been available until later in the year. Think Round 11 is when train and trial players can be picked.

If so its a strange selection. Latu could have covered 9 while TDS had a rest plus provide far more coverage in the backline.

I think Bird is the backrow/centre option we've always liked... except he'll play lock and move Twal into the prop rotation.

I hope it was just nerves but last time he played FB he never looked like catching some of the bombs. There will be an arial assault and a lot of traffic down our edges with Fataape and Doueihi.

I would hope so - needs to keep match fitness and also to keep Galvin on his toes.
