I hope Mason has a good game to put pressure on Bula

You think Bird is high priced?
I think Bird is the backrow/centre option we've always liked... except he'll play lock and move Twal into the prop rotation.
I do think Doueihi made it since Api is still suspended we need a goal kicker, but even if he was free to play he might’ve been named regardless since To’a is battling injury. If Doueihi has a shocker though he might not be there next week.attacking wise AD and fataape go ok, defensively a few issues
Bird will be our backrow/lock cover. Only will cover Centre if absolutely needed. You think Bird is high priced?

I liked the approach in the trial with Bird coming on later in the game. His impact was noticeable and he got busy immediately.Maybe not in the Scheme of things - But he's hardly on peanuts.
Either way....
They've done that stupid Push Twal from lock to prop to death =
3 Spoons.
Bird has spoken nothing but playing lock, But doesn't seem to have that spot, And is there to cover more than a few positions - Hooker is just one more? If he's not there to cover a few positions, Or can't cover Hooker - Get someone who can.
It's not like they're not about - Warriors have 2 of them.
I don't get having 2 specialist Hookers and a utility of sorts in the 17
Never have - We've been doing it for years #Sheenius
Maybe it will work this year.
Still concerned about his high ball jumps and catches though. I hope he does well there, his defence is ok but I do like he’s always there in attack ready for the ball.I hope Mason has a good game to put pressure on Bula
I hope Doueihi goes ok and picks up in defence. Without Doueihi our alternate looks to be Lobb, so if I had to choose between the 2 I'd say at this stage Doueihi- with his performance to confirm his future or otherwise in the first 17.Doueihi made it because with Api out we don’t have a goal kicker, if he has a shocker he might not be there next week.
Now that’s starting to look like a rebuild#293 - Sunia Turuva
#294 - Jeral Skelton
#295 - Jarome Luai
#296 - Terrell May
#297 - Tristan Hope
#298 - Royce Hunt
#299 - Jack Bird
Alternative is probably Feledy or Saukura.I hope Doueihi goes ok and picks up in defence. Without Doueihi our alternate looks to be Lobb, so if I had to choose between the 2 I'd say at this stage Doueihi- with his performance to confirm his future or otherwise in the first 17.
Agree, Api just cant do 80 minutes a week. The coach and team better to build in a 20 minute break player for him - 10 minutes either side of half time?I liked the approach in the trial with Bird coming on later in the game. His impact was noticeable and he got busy immediately.
Like to see more of this approach, I think it's a good move.
Guy covers the backs and halves too.
Has a lot of value, utility wise.
As for the hooker position, its obvious Api needs a spell... so I think this was always in the plan.
Twal at 13 is a defensive approach and he can move into the prop rotation when Bird comes on, which allows us to carry Royce and Sione as the bench forwards.
See how it goes.
I don’t have much hope for Doueihi improving his defence but I hope I’m wrong. I agree I rather have him there though than Lobb.I hope Doueihi goes ok and picks up in defence. Every day of the week.I don’t have much hope for Doueihi improving his defence but I hope I’m wrong. I agree I rather have him there though than Lobb.
15 either side.Agree, Api just cant do 80 minutes a week. The coach and team better to build in a 20 minute break player for him - 10 minutes either side of half time?
Think every Tigers fan thinks that.Every day of the week.
I would imagine Twal is starting at lock to keep the middle tight in the opening 20 minutes or so. Once he is replaced by Bird he could slot in to the FR rotation or be used to give Bird a break later in the game. He is definitely not in the side for his ball playing ability.Maybe not in the Scheme of things - But he's hardly on peanuts.
Either way....

Id say they want him to spend more time developing his game in reserves with 80 minutes there than some intermittent 20 minutes or so in the 14- 17.No Latu, at all... [in thr 17]
