3-2-1 3 2 1 vs Knights

I managed to see only 20min of the game.
Do you think he may have been under coach’s instructions to be less assertive? To allow other players to show more leadership?
Benji scolded the "leadership" group's example setting mid way through the army camp for not showing enough of it, demanding that they step up immediately and lead by example.

Instead we watched the ball continually get handed to the exuberance of Galvin, which was the exact thing that Marshall called them out on, which is on Luai. Twal was the best of that Red leadership group yesterday, among many failures, including Bird ridiculously pulling someones hair and Hunt in the scrum when we needed field position.

Only May really stood up yesterday and he was not part of the leadership group, with inexperienced Skelton alongside.

Clueless in attack….sideways, sideways, kick into their feet
Fair dinkum what did they practise all summer eyes up attack at the wrong time, where was some deep shape off the back of some scrums it wouldn't of hurt to try, the other crap wasn't working, where has some of the good attack from last season gone you would think they would build on that, this bash and barge stuff close to the tryline needs Api coordinating otherwise it's a waste of time they can read it too easily.

3 May
2 Skelton
1 Samuela Fainu

I'd give Luai and Galvin a little bit of time to gel. Api back next week should help. Thought Bird, apart from unnecessary hair pull, was OK from the bench

I noticed that too. It appeared to me that Benji was trying too hard to prove he was right about his long held view of the young working harder than the older guys. I thought he was doing really well up to that point when his leadership credentials took a dive at the expense of “see I told you so.”
Those senior players aren’t stupid, they would’ve seen that coming. Not that hard to see when you’re being set up 😂
I hope Benji learned something from that Leadership training.
He would do well to develop his own emotional intelligence imho.

Called for the ball just to snap an ordinary kick.

Multiple times.
Guess it's his first game with Luai.
Needs to be better though.

We didn't get smashed by any means though.
I'll have to watch a replay. I must have missed something?
My 1st impression watching live, was Luai did bugger all in attack! Kicked the ball or off loaded.
Never run with the ball. Never too the line on, stood flat. Supposed to control the game and Galvin. Never worked for either.
Early days, fingers crossed.
Bula back will improve one position.

Watch Latu today in KOE.
Galvin has nothing to worry about.
Interesting Latu was played on the right side today in Cup.

Yes did not command the ball or do anything exceptional but was solid nonetheless. Mostly Max Liles was the dominant playmaker.

But found playing him on his non-preferred right side very interesting.

Liles wasn't impressive. Fainu doesn't come across as being all that "interested".

I think that's Latu's personality. He comes across as the quiet baby brother type who needs someone to direct his play but put trust in his ability.

6-8 weeks being able to play consistently in NSW Cup will do him wonders especially if Tristan Hope & Kurt Falls return. Though Latu was put on report for a high shot in the 2nd half. Looked accidental to me and not much in it but that was just via Bar TV one angle.

I do strongly believe a Luai & Latu halves combo will be best for the WT in the long-term but the current combo will be given 6-8 weeks IMO.
