OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

I’ve no idea if he’s guilty or not so not judging. I’d like to see quality players both on and off the field joining our club and we need a quality centre. We say we are pro family so this will be a tough call for the club to make where only one person knows the truth.

Both Richo & Wayne (a Benji mentor) haven’t been reluctant to give players another chance. Hopefully they build in some exit clauses for the club if he strays. A good early test of Benji’s man management.

We have a lot of outside backs who are good for yardage and a few tries close to the line - he is a genuine game breaker who can create like breaks on his own with his size and power. Praying we sign him

I hope we get this done you'd think we'd have the upper hand and putting this together with what Terrel has already said we should get this done.
I would like to have thought discussions have already been had pending the case, which we probably already knew wouldnt be contested.
Had Taylan been available under previous management it would have been a hard pass, but I have more faith in Richo to put in the relevant contingencies and also conversations with Terrel.
We desperately need a quality centre outside back and he's the very best available, don't want to be trotting out Fataape and Doueihi too often.

This signing would go a long way.

With Skelton, Turuva and likely Makasini in the future - would be some start to our sets.
I think there's four important things to note...

- Taylans alleged crimes are very serious. It isn't his first offence either, he's been in trouble a few times before. (Cracked some bloke at the pub, anyone remember that? There was footage.)

- We are a family focused/friendly club and this goes against what we stand for....

- character aside, he's a fantastic player and better than what we have. He will strengthen our team immensely.

- the case was dismissed.... guilty or not, I'm sure people will have their thoughts, but today, he walks free of any alleged crimes.

It's definitely something that fans, of not just our club but the greater NRL community will be divided on. I can't see many punters "liking" him. He has A LOT of work to put in to clean up his image.

We're a strong chance to sign him, i suppose.
Could always end up at somewhere like Parra also with his cousin Jake Tago?

Quick search there isn't many players in the NRL right now with such serious crimes against their names, other than;
Matt Lodge (NY incident)
Jack De Belin
And Addin Fonua Blake (DV charges, some years ago)

This type of character doesn't last long in the game.
Taylans out and out last chance it'd seem, otherwise it's back to tiktok and pushing his brand that won't be supported.

He'd be so good for us, but he has been out for a year. Even if he signs today I expect it will be a few weeks until he is ready for matches. Hopefully not but just trying to be realistic.

But Friday showed us we still need a top-class 2nd-rower and Lock. I'd move Twal into prop rotation and have Bird share lock with an actual lock. Maybe even someone like B Smith although he's injured and looks like he's going to Bunnies.

The other brother, Tyrone could be a serviceable 13 MAYBE.
