OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Close to home - still a kid - family have a connection to the club and no doubt the money will play a major part.
Moses influence - manager and player also a big factor.
Even if he signs a lucrative 4 year deal and the club is struggling he still is only 24/25 and can head to a stronger club with plenty of career time left.
I can see why they will be an option at this point if they offer a contract.
Why would you want to go to Parramatta there a basket case 46 to 6 at halftime

Galvin’s game wasn’t great, but we need to remember he’s only 19. He still has so much to learn and he might need a game or so out of first grade this year, which is where Latu will come in.

I also think that having a debutant and 19 year old hooker playing didn’t really help Luai or Galvin. Newcastle were all over Galvin every time he got the ball; with api there’s always a threat at 9, which frees up the halves, gives forwards steaming on to ball more space.

Galvin gets a couple of fifth tackle kicks in to the in goal and we win. Api plays and we score a close range try via May or Hunt while we’re up 8 nill and we win. Mason doesn’t drop that bomb and we probably win.

Frustrated to lose, but I think saying that we’re going to have a terrible season or Galvin isn’t the choice for five eighth is a little premature.
Your right, but contrast it to.

Luke Brooks and AD were interviewed and asked "so how does Api coming in at 9 change your gameplan?" LB "it doesn't!"

Luai knows better then this. Benji hopefully is learning.

Thats because last year Latu was hamstrung with an injury, this year the club is content to turn him into a 7 or a utility, when he really is a running 6 and thats his strength (why play him away from what he is good at??) . Bite the bullet Benji and annoint Latu as our long term 6 and watch him and Luai florish. Galvin should be our 13
The club can escape the manager limbo by selecting Fainu in the 6 or 7 as our long term partner with Luai. We are building but the team/club needs certainty. Accept that Galvin will move on in 2 years and plan accordingly. We also have Mason so we do have depth in the halves which is a credit to the club.

When was this?

Also can’t believe we let onitoni large go when we didn’t have to - for galvin with no guarantees he stays
We had to pick 1.

No guarantees that a jnr half will actually be of a first grade standard.

No guarantees anyone will stay once their manager sees $$$$$.

Club had to choose, would like to come back 3 years later and see who is the superstar, Galvin or Large.
I get it too. We needed a half last season and Large will take another 2-3 years. But yes, Galvin did not look like he was staying

Parra's a basketcase.

But hey, first game from their rebuild and they get thrashed against the Storm.
...
Tigers it's been 3+ years of Rebuild.

No one good is going to stay after 2x spoons and if 2025 tanks for us. Ryles is going to be an average coach, I reckon he won't get Parra to a top 4 side and take some of the fun out of them. But he won't give them 3 spoons.

Galvin is still a goofy giggly kid. He had some good games last year, but crashes back down to Earth after Rd 1.

I heard Bloke in a Bar mention that Gagai made 27 tackles down Galvins side. Best only made 5 tackles down Luais side. He did it with Fainu as well.

He is not good enough to starve Luai of that much ball. Needs to improve and wake up a bit.

He's got it in him to be better and I hope we fix that little issue this week.

We did not have to pick one yet.
Tell em what they want to hear, sign them all and work it out later when we’re winning and everyone wants to stay.

JL should be getting the ball twice as much as Gal.

Benji as coach should be all over it this week that Luai is the dominant ball player. Most of the great 5/8’s don’t overplay their hand - they wait and call for it when they see the opportunity, not be the one trying to create all the opportunities. I hope Benji isn’t sitting back thinking I don’t want to give him negative feedback or he will leave

We didn’t - onitoni was signed for another year I think.

I believe we could’ve waited to see if galvin stayed before releasing him

I think Richo said in a podcast they in good faith were told by galvins family they would negotiate in the new year (this year) and now that looks like it’s gone out the window - so they released large.

Good post, I feel.like Luai went out of his way to include Galvin for some reason.

We will be much better as Luai and Api take more control.

Yeah Spartan, I agree.
I saw it as Luai knowing how bad a "watch me win it for you" ball hog looks . . . and not wanting to be THAT guy first trip in the jersey.
Gal, on the other hand might still think that way, just because it worked in the juniors ?
Maybe Jarome also got caught up in the hysteria surrounding LG, and didn't want to over shadow him, even though he's the senior player.

This is just my opinion, I thought luai was very poor in attack, his defence was good , but I think he let Galvin run the show , he seemed to just pass the ball and there was no backline play other than the try we scored. Maybe he was not up to match fitness , he really needs to run the show and get the backline sorted , if it doesn’t happen this weekend I fear we will be a bottom feeder club again

Gagai defends on the right.
The stat they mentioned indicates that Galvin and Luai went left 27 times as opposed to 5 time down the right.
