OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Hot take (if Galvin goes)- Put Jack Bird at the #6, but as a hitter, not a ball-player. Essentially what Fiji did with that sh*t #7 that used to play for us (so sh*t that I forget his name lol.) They played a 2R at #6, but he didn't play as a 6. He played as an extra front/second rower, and the 7 ran the halves

Would that work, or is it absurd lol

No not absurd at all. Roosters let their best 3 forwards leave. Look.at them now. That's absurd

If Bud doesn't improve under Bennett the writing is on the wall for him, can only see super league calling either that or reserve grade at the Tigers.
And that means we gotta pay him. Super League would be great. I believe Souths have good halves. Bud is like their - damn - forget his name. That Brisbane half that played for us and left for Brisbane. Stop gap player. But you are right. Return to.Sender.

I'm not sure what all of the hand wringing is about. Richo and Benji have made a pitch and it hasn't been accepted.

The Manager, and possibly the parents, want a good slice of what is expected to be a bigger Galvin pie come 1 Nov. So they advise him to hold and and see what is on offer. It is out of our (the club's control) and defintely not something us jumping up and down on a forum will change.

On the up side, we will be swimming in the same pool as everyone else, plus have his mates wanting him to stay. I doubt Richo will do a Newcastle and bend the cap completely out of shape for the kid. So he stays, or he goes, on terms suitable to the club. If he goes we can entertain letting him go early and get someone we want in exchange, or playing him as depth for Latu or simply stick him back in Flegg just to be spiteful.

Something will happen in November and the kid has to play out of his skin to get the best deal. Just let it play out and worry about Parra this weekend - it is a real and pressing issue.

With Galvin it feels like the same thing is playing out like with Mitch Moses

Just dragging it out like Mitch and Galvin have the same manger
The trouble with that is at least Mitch had plenty of games under his belt...Galvin is a rookie who isnt even NRL standard yet...As Sheens said you have to have played 50 NRL games before you are seasoned...
Moses is playing the speculation game and hoping the kid makes it,if the game against the Knights is any indication he needs to learn to play a team game first and foremost,a lot of games have been lost over the years because of ball hogs and he needs to develop into an NRL player,he isnt in the school boy comp anymore..

Jock Madden he will be looking for a club now not in their plans, unless Bud is a dope he would know it's now or never.

Humphrey’s having a good game for the bunnies and also having Dodd as a back up I only see Bud maybe getting a start on the bench if at all this year unless they get injuries.
Which doesn’t help us we need him staring for them.

Dylan Brown "reportedly" told team mates he won't be there next year. You can bet Uncle Isaac will be looking to get Mitch a new side kick as well as a healthy commission in the process
Honestly though it's blatantly obvious atm that Parra are on the slide. Why would he sign there. Reckon the Roosters will be more of a chance even though they're going to struggle they have an uncanny ability to open the cheque book and sign multiple big name players in the same season. So they won't be down long.

Do you mean Brandon Wakeham?

I know this is a little dramatic but I've been unsure about Galvin as a half for most of last season, so for me this isn't a kneejerk reaction to Rd 1.

Assuming Benji has a game plan that is more than just "play what you see", he is risking his coaching future on Galvin if his instructions aren't being followed and needs to limit the patience he shows.

It's a much better team this week in regards to strike, if we play the same way and lose again I'd drop him to cup or 14, even though I don't know how we would spell Api. That's a much smaller problem than an ineffective halves combo.

I know these days any constructive criticism is considered character assassination, bullying etc.... and no one should pile on to a kid. Think he can be a great footballer, not a great 6 and once the majority opinion swings he is up against it to get his pay day. Simplest advice I can give him is you will look good if your team wins and you aren't playing like a hero, you will look very bad if your team loses and you are playing like a hero.

The new bloke at 7 has come out of nowhere and looks the real deal...Cory Walker locked in at 6....and the expensive POM no 7 waiting on the sidelines
Hes in the same situation as he was here!Back up for the back up!
Anyway, hes got 550 thousand reasons every year to enjoy the journey

Yes. That new guy. Never heard of him...Plays like Galvin and hits like Radley. Damn. Maybe we can't take a trick. We owe Bud money if things don't work out over there for him.

He needs to stick his head down and work.
He is far better off learning in a Bennett led system than a Marshal led one.
Its an opportunity to grow. Hope he doesnt waste it. We may need him next year....
