TEAM LIST Team List Vs Parramatta (Round 2)

Team List
Massive game ..need some confidence… so do they after last week …

Wish we weren’t playing them on their home ground 👎

I agree that for better or worse … this is the best team we can put out until Naden is back for Toa

Big game for us. Feel like if we lose this, it’s gonna be another long year.
It's always a long year with this team. You get used to it. Honestly knowing your team is out of contention by the halfway mark just makes you appreciate watching the decent sides more.

Every team bar the Panthers in the last 4 years have had a long year to be fair haha

It was long for Panthers also. To be the best 4 years in a row you gotta work the hardest.

I just saw the Team List and the bench looks to be a worry this week:

14 Daine Laurie
15 Matt Eisenhuth
16 Ice Papali
17 Luke Garner

Then I realised it was 4 times premiership-winning team, The Pamfers.

Aren't they the Club with huge depth? Could spell trouble at the foot of the Mountains.
Yep we have a few of theirs but their entire bench are ex tigers this week !

Liked Laurie and Garner.

Think Laurie's spot is 5/8th. Natural runner who can pass .has had a couple good games there.

Garner runs lines. Can't even remember the last time a Tiger ran a line. To be fair when Galvin crabs across the ground it is hard. Brooks used to do the same. When he ran he played direct. When he passed he tried to get on the upside and draw and pass but it just meant the 2nd row had no room to run and it fell apart.

Just play direct. Can't be that hard.

Eiso has been in their system for all 4 of their premiership years. He knows what to do and gives them want they need from him. Reliable benchie.
Garner has won the past two premierships with them. Same as matt above but slightly better.
Ice is a current teir 1 international. Not many squads have quality like that riding the pine.
Daine can be very good on his day. The year he left us he was great.

Truth is, they arent the same players over there.

Their Wests Tigers players winning more games than ours.

I'd argue that's the best team we can name at the moment

I think we will get it done in a close one. Bula and Korisau will be the difference for us!

To'a a good attacking centre, will add the spark we need out wide. Api will put over May or Hunt for a try too

Yes. Dont remind us. 3 good games from Toa.

Victory against the Parrasites on Sunday shouldn’t be that difficult a task. The boys should rightly be smarting after last week’s effort so motivation to correct the performance should be high. So will Parramatta’s but us coming off a two-point loss v a 50 point one should make a difference. We obviously need to focus on our first up contact; cut the missed tackles in half and we are most of the way there in defence.

Jahream and Api, will bolster the team's performance as their experience and skills should provide a boost in both defence and attack.

On the ball side of the equation I expect a lot of work has gone into the coordination between Luai and Galvin this week. We saw a significant improvement in Galvin’s play between trial one and two so he can definitely do it. I think we may have been trying to play both sides of the ruck a bit too much last week. Temper it and execute when it is on and we will improve significantly.

The Slimey’s defensive weakness appears to be their left edge. If our Hodgo is clued in, Galvin and Sam F should be targeting that edge while Luai roams around a little and identifies where he can use his step to set up Bird/Bula down the middle corridor or Sione off his hip on the edge.

So what is the gremlin for this game? We have won two in a row at CommBank. When was the last time we won three in a row of anything positive? It would be great to get three wins in a row at Commbank and set it up as a positive for us over the next couple of seasons.

I’m quietly confident that we will build. Having so many kids in the team is going to see us have a “Newcastle” game every so often. Not how we wanted to start the season; but Parra is the perfect team for us to bounce back against. Pretty sure there will be a few boys still hurting after spoon bowl and looking to make amends.

Faataape, How many tries did best get on the weekend. His winger got one from a broken play after bad pass from best. Got him every day ahead of the plank of wood (Toa). How many goes did he get there, heaps! But mostly like 90%+ below average games, I don’t get it. Faatape has heaps more attacking skills and only a touch worst than toa. We need tries
