Was he the main half?
I don’t get your question here ?
I see in your next post after you respond to mine, you stated
“Both Team achievements”
Which I agree with all games are won by the TEAM
Not by the MAIN player
No team has won a premiership because of one player it takes a team to ALL work together to be successful and if that happens the individuals in that team all look good.
IMO
At the moment the Bulldogs are a prime example of this, they haven’t got what you would call a strong squad (no MAIN half) but all their players are doing their jobs which brings results.

stop moving the goalposts. you asked for a ‘clutch moment’ you got it.

on the biggest stage with the game firmly in the balance, Jarome Luai splits the defence open and sets up the try that delivers the breakthrough. that’s as clutch as you can get in my book. not something that’s ‘planned’ like a forced dropout.

by your reasoning we should be running Chad Townsend at halfback or someone else completely robotic with zero creativity.

either get on board and back the bloke or sit on the hill at Four Pines and cheer on your little mate Brooksy.
I'll back the bloke if he actually backs up what he says. He said we'd be a top 8 team if he played in 2024. He's not going to live up to those expectations with a better team this year. I haven't moved the goalposts at all. You regard the 65th minute as clutch, I don't. Clutch in sports literally means at the death. Like in basketball on the buzzer. Or in the final 10 minutes, or in golden point. He has no experience in this, and his crazy pass to Galvin in the last 5 minutes when down on the weekend was proof again he is not equipped enough

Who cares about clutch plays, the guys won 4 comps in a row and origin series as a half. With or without clutch plays he got it done. Clutch plays are great for a highlights reel, we need leaders and consistency.
That's the thing though. Wests Tigers are not going to be beating many teams by 10+ points. So close games will come down to the halves. Luai being the 1.2 million dollar guy (ie. the guy who comes up with big plays under pressure when the game is on the line) could be the difference between us avoiding a spoon winning narrowly, or making the 8 even. The game on the weekend we were the better team and leading for 50 minutes, until luai lost it for us with his 7 tackle set that was something the fans here would bag Brooks for. At least brooks would attempt to win the game

Bulldogs work as a team because their whole culture has been changed by Ciraldo and Crichton to be team first, no egos, hard working and next man up mentality like at penrith. Tigers are led by an amateur coach whose standards are so low he brings up positives every time the team loses, so that they can be 'happy' with improving stats but not winning games

Hopefully he will take it more on his own shoulders in future and for all our sakes develop that clutch gene.

I disagree slightly regarding "clutch" time, although the 65th minute is admittedly pushing the limits. In the NBA the clutch minutes are defined by the league as the final 5 minutes in a close game. They use it for statistical purposes. That's a bit over 10% of the total game time (excluding overtime), while the 65th minute is right around the start of the last 20% of an 80 minute NRL game. I probably agree with you that the last 10 minutes is a good mark for NRL clutch time.

Did he sleep with your mum ? You have done nothing but abuse him on here

You’re banging on about that 7 tackle set. Even the media did as well.
Did you and them realise that Newcastle scored on tackle 3, 4 if it was a normal set count?

I haven't in the past. I am probably the only person who has fairly criticised his failure on the weekend while everyone is blaming Galvin. I think galvin should go to reserves while luai should be considered as the 6 and latu at 7 if he keeps this up

It changed the game. And he didn't do anything as the leader to stop it despite leading most of the game

Sorry how did giving Newcastle a set restart change the game?
Haven’t you seen a 7 tackle set when a player drops a ball over the line?
Or a grubber goes too long?
pretty sure your mate kicked too long for Manly on the weekend.
Did that change the game?

What changed the game for us, was the fact we weren’t fit to defend the way we started the game. Luai included he missed a crucial tackle in that set.

Well that is an interesting idea .. 🤔. I may have been a bit quick to judge you .. Galvin is definitely needed in the team , this week IMO as he is absolutely in our top 13 but I really do think he is an absolute 13 in the making and the team would be better served with Latu in th halves and Galvin at lock.. getting it to happen might be the difficult part while keeping all egos in check .. if Galvin can learn to hit like Jurbo or Radley then he will be one hell of a footballer .. Latu is a ball player , that can tackle land reads the defence well .. I really would like to say Taylan Maylan play next to him … Tigers would be a real team

I still don’t think Gus wants Galvin given they have Mitchell Woods in their system and another Aussie Schoolboy currently managing their team well.
That’s not even mentioning Burton or O’Neil.
I think it’s purely to bring attention, the wrong attention to Galvin and the Tigers
I wouldn’t rule it out. Gus want’s quality players regardless of who he has on the books. Things constantly change so he puts in the ground work for potential future signings. The Dogs recently released Karl Oloapu, touted the best young 5/8 in the game when they paid the Broncs a $500k transfer fee in 2023. They were intending to play him as a lock.

Brooks is a much better player after joining manly. As of now, I'd trust him more in a pressure moment than luai
No , Jedi Tiger, Tiger Yoshi, paws and claws would also select Brooks,, I think that just about covers it .. out of the rest of the 7 million league fans polled

Galvin at halfback is what killed our attack on the weekend. Luai tried playing like a 5/8 without a running game. Latu playing halfback would at least compliment luai trying to replicate his 5/8 style from penrith. Galvin is not a team player, and is a sook. He can leave now and I wouldn't give a shit
