2 teams who slide backward in 2025

Broncos success relies on the fitness of 2 x 35+ year old halves.

Manly's success relies on DCE & Turbo staying fit.

It's a long season. Seibold doesn't exactly have the sharpest resume & Madge does have the ability to overcook.

But yeah, you're probably right. Could be the GF right there.
Given the choice of a young half or an older more experienced half you would take the latter.

To a degree. But Reynolds hasn't exactly proven indestructable. Time catches up with everyone. And in a team that thrives on playing fast- you have 2 slow halves running the show.

If they stay fit? They are a class combo.

That said- I think the Broncos issues will be more about mental & character. Same with Manly, who I just think are extremely overrated.

Reynolds is slowing down, but I don’t know that I’d call Hunt slow.
Broncos also have a speedster ready to slot into the halves, round 6 I think? They have strong depth and good juniors coming through.

Manly have some speedy clever backs and some big boppers in the pack, footballers who know how to go down town, giving their halves time and space. We can’t underrate them just because of all the Tigers they have. Those same players are doing better than they did with us. Look at their top try scorer as an example, getting great service from their inside backs.

Warriors & Dolphins.
Not so sure about Warriors though, after they scored their round one tries at the end of each half?
I agree with the Dolphins. They over achieved under Bennett and even then they didn't finish high on the table. Spooners for me but as usual I'll hope parra get it.

"Manly is an injury away from ruin. If DCE goes down at all, at 48 years of age, they are done. If Turbo or Jake go down- they will struggle."

"Roosters, I believe, will surprise people."

"Earlier, the Warriors overcame a poor start against Manly to lead 18-6 at halftime and hung on as the Sea Eagles lost superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic (hamstring tightness) and captain Daly Cherry-Evans (back)."

"Roosters held on for a stunning 38-32 upset victory over the Panthers"

Well done!

Key players suffering injuries will be the factor that determines what teams flop. Most teams have little depth when it comes to key positions. Funny enough we are in a better position than most as we have good coverage in the spine, although very little in most other areas.

On paper the Cows and Dolphins are the teams I see as sliders, with possibly Souths and Easts as the other teams

My prediction for 2 teams who slide backwards in season 2025 are
Roosters , will slide backwards the most
Penrith , Cleary injury will see them go from top 2 to bottom 2 of the 8
Penrith can win without Cleary. Yes they have a long way to drop, but they can win.

Roosters look like they are back in gear. But unsure if Penrith went to sleep in that game. They could still be on a slide.

Not sure if I can predict as I imagine the knights sliding and it looks like they will do the opposite.

Cowboys and Titans are on my list.

Broncos looked liked their usual arrogant selves yesterday & got slapped by the Raiders.

Be interesting to see how everyone responds. That club has an attitude issue among it's key players.

Souths will continue to grind out wins until they click. Top 4 side IMO.

I always thought Dolphins would suffer without Wayne. Unfortunately the Cowboys look to be another to slide. One of them is copping the spoon I feel.

I hate writing sides off this early but Cows look like they’re in a world of trouble. Can’t remember a worse start to a season

Whoever loses in our game will probably be feeling the pressure aswell

Manly loses Turbo for a bit. We'll see how good Manly really are very soon. DCE carrying a back injury.

If either of these injuries linger, they'll be lucky to make the 8.
