Jahream Bula #269

puts to bed those people who were saying they’d prefer Mason. He was class yesterday. Praying to god his injury isn’t serious. He was limping for a while and then tried to run it off which is good to show how committed he is but coaching staff need to be a bit stronger there and say game is won - come off a ice it mate. I assumed it was just cramp cause they allowed him to ‘run it off’

I am a big believer in Bula and Mason. Mason offers tremendous utility value and can fill in at fullback if required. He is going to be very good player for WTs. Bula is a superstar. There is no downside to having depth and quality players in the squad.

It was an ankle injury. In hindsight, he should've come off when he first started limping rather than risk aggravation.

Bula has always been safe with high balls and runs the ball really well. Something that really stood out which was imo once a weakness in his game is his ball playing ability.

He was excellent with his ability to straighten the line and drag defenders giving space to our centres and wingers. I recommend watching the highlights for proof.

All the space Luai and Galvin provide we desperately needed Bula to finish those plays with some polish which he did perfectly.

Very excited to see his progress this year.

He holds a massive key to our future success and I think he’ll go up a gear in 2025.

Think Hodgo has helped in this area, a lot on here always knocking the coaching team but when Benji has more experience think it's well balanced.

It's nice to see Bula playmaking more, correct me if I am wrong but one thing I haven't seen from him which I would like to see is a cut out pass. Seriously how safe is he though never makes a mistake gosh he is a talent that length of field try before halftime was a sight to see.

Code sports has early news but locked behind a paywall
Nothing new to report just that he was spotted in a moon boot after the game.

Wests Tigers fullback Jahream Bula is in doubt for his Round 3 clash against the Dolphins, after being spotted in a moon boot following the joint venture’s 32-6 win over Parramatta.
Bula, who made his return from injury on Sunday, played a vital role in the Tigers’ victory, before he copped a knock after Eels winger Sean Russell dived at the back of his legs, saving a try in the 76th minute.

The 23-year-old tried to play on, before being taken off the field by coach Benji Marshall, leaving the Tigers with 12-players after running out of interchanges.

New recruit Sunia Turuva, who scored three tries on the wing for the Tigers, filled in at fullback for the remainder of the game and will be an option if Bula is not fit for Saturday’s clash in Redcliffe.

Young gun Heath Mason, who played fullback in Round 1 with Bula absent, will also be pushing for a spot in the Tigers’ 17.

Always thought this could be a break out season for him. Hopefully he gets back to full fitness quickly.

I was impressed with his game yesterday in the conditions and his first game of the season could see that he was hanging around the ruck and got an offload from May and also chimed into the backline for a few overlap opportunities and tries. Hope the injury is not bad as we need him to be available for our backline cohesion.
Hopefully Hodgo has him primed to be a support person like he was, as he backed up well around the ruck and created many scoring plays as a consequence.
Great Win for the club and supporters and Bay 209 and 210 were going off.
