You can understand/forgive the pessimism of Tigers fans. E.g. my kids have never seen Tigers play finals footy and they are 11 and 9.

HOWEVER I agree with you that this team is showing something new, a fight that hasn't been there for a long time. The teams that beat us so far are pretty decent sides and we've fought right to the last play, going very close to winning.

The reality is if you are competitive every week and most games go down to the wire, you will win about half of those unless you are in a purple patch. Winning half your matches will usually get you to the finals. So it's a decent benchmark.
So true jr but this next game is worrying me mate can you feel a touch up coming, hope I'm wrong.

I don't expect us to win, and if we do we'll have to be near perfect without Luai, but they are beatable.

coming off two high intensity Queensland derbies there's a fair chance there's a bit of hangover and they start a bit flatter than usual. Piakura's coming in for Riki on their right edge and there will be opportunities to score points there. we just have to take them.

biggest thing for us is long kicking game and organisation. we're going to struggle without Luai in both departments. if these young'uns can find their voice and Api brings his best footy, we'll give them some headaches.
Hope Benji & coaches give May, Pole, Hunt, Twal, Bird, Sione, Api, Tallyn a big incentive to dominate the Broncos middles.

And for once against these muppets, post-game the media are lauding the attacking prowess of Bula instead of Walsh.

And in the final 10 mins, we witness an amazing solo effort from Latu who chips'n' chases from the halfway line, bounce sits up perfectly, he dummies & steps Walsh cold, palms off a covering Cobbo and scores under the post and does the Kotoni 'this is my house' gesture!

LOL....Broncs will put 50 on us. We are due.

Our defence is getting better but is far from good.
So far we have played likely bottom 8 teams and have kept a lid on tries conceeded in great scrambling fashion, as we have given plenty of opportunities to opponents. Sooner or later though, a side full of try hungry guns is going to take advantage of the way we are defending.

This is the first team we've played this year who fit the bill. It will be a great test and could become either a reality check or a confidence booster. I think it will be the former at this stage.

Hard to gage on this game with all the team disruption Tuck, was so hoping we were at full strength for this one alas not to be, worrying.

I hope AD puts in the occasional grubber kick and tactical kick as well.
Great to have another player that can kick the ball besides our halves, I hope he’s recovered from his injury.
Good to have another older heads experience in the game too.

LOL whatever dude ….

So much pessimism !
I hope and believe that is not the attitude from the players and Benji
Yes if you think you will lose you will lose !
" Put 50 on us " my God
Defence is ok
Knights with Ponga ,Best ,Gagai ,Marshew and Sharpe scored 2 tries and were scoreless for 57 mins
Parra scored a try in the 80th min in 40 degree heat
Dolphins scored 3 tries vs our 5 tries
Following week Broncos scored 4 tries vs Dolphins
4 tries a piece vs Warriors ,went within a whisker of 2 more
Admit warriors 1st and last trys were a worry but we were really hit hard with reshuffles
A lot depends on Latu having a blinder
If we lose I'm confident it won't be a whitewash
We have a very different team this year .Past 3 years irrelevant !!!

I would be very happy if BULA can make some head on tackles , and don’t let us down like last week

Winning this game is not probable, but it is certasinly possible. We won't control the middle given the quality of the opposition; however, if we contain them we have the ability to outscore them. We certainly won't achieve it unless we cantrol the momentum of the game and take our chances.

We can't afford to let them get a start. Our slow starts have been a huge issue for us and unless we address it the Donkeys could kick out to a big early lead. Brisbane will want to play fast, racking up metres down the middle before shovelling out to Staggs, Walsh and Cobbo through two very expereinced halves. So how do we do it?

If we let them camp in our red zone points will flow for them, so we need to attack them with our defence in the middle third of the field. Unless the Donkys are off their game, we will not win the middle contest; however, if we scrap hard in every contact and contain them we have the ability to play up an in on Hunt and Reynolds to limit Walsh and Co out the back. We also need to control momentum, which will be difficult with such immature halves. Api will prpbably need to do a bit of kicking out of dummy half. 40/20s would be gold, but if we can find touch if they are getting as roll on it breaks their momentum, gives us time to calm down and reset.

The key to winning isn't our defence though. The defence is definitely the foundation we need to build from, but this is a game where we have to have the attitude of scoring one more point than they do. Galvin and Latu have to play what they see and take their chances. If we try to get in the grind with Brisbane we will be minced and they will put a score on us.

I'm worried about this game too, Luai out and question mark over Sam's and Doueihi's fitness, I think madge has been waiting for this game expect them to come out wanting to smash us.
As long as if we keep it under 50 and try hard that's all that matters. Even with luai I think it would be a blowout broncos win

Just don’t get the hate for Faataape on here?!? Just watched the replay, and he really only did one thing wrong the whole game, and the was dropping the ball from the kick off just before half time.
He scored great try n bad conditions, defused 2-3 hard bombs and did a great cover tackle to save a try. The try they scored at the end faataape did the tackle just before the try and was on the ground. As I said previously the Luai kick was a Hail Mary play, he got a shit bounce and the badly injured Nichol was arriving at the same time as him. It was a spit second decision.
I’d take him everyday over Luke he hasn’t played first grade for ages and it was his first game back last week, to risky!

I think this game will be lost in the middle. So my tactical thinking would be to overly compress our defense and dare the Broncos to go around us. Play away from our weakness in other words. You are gambling because they have some class out wide but if you can get a few mistakes out of them you give yourself a sniff.
