Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Tigers fans, if you can, get to the game on Monday. In numbers. Give the team the loudest standing ovation when they run out. Cheer them in at half time regardless of the score. Win, lose or draw, standing ovation at full time. This is a team first, club first 17. Reward them for it.
20000%. This week the team gets a pass regardless of score. If they put in but get flogged so be it. MASSIVE SUPPORT from the fans is needed. Cheer like we each one the lotto

Right now , for this season, I'd be looking at signing Deine Mariner and Jacob Laban to top 30 deals. Both posters aren't getting much of a look in at the moment, Laban is on next this week but down pecking order.
Suli Pole on a development contract next year would be good too.

The only way we release Galvin is for a very strong player in return. Let him speak to other clubs but make it clear to Moses, the only way he leaves before end of his contract is via a high quality player swap.

We need Richo to stand his ground here.
BB, Cooper Clarke went to Melbourne a couple of years ago. Has he progressed?

Galvin has a pretty poor kicking game currently. No long kicks, no high kicks, grubbers are a roll of the dice.
That's why he'll struggle as a halfback, and his lack of a running game means he'll struggle as a 5/8.
Probably why he will end up at Eels as they have arguably the best all round kicker in the game or at least on par with Cleary

I agree Bud doesn't have the goods as a NRL half... We have also burned him pretty bad and to Bud's credit he has handled that well.

Mason is a great Depth/Reggies player. Not a first grade option at the moment.

It's Fainu or hire elsewhere.
Not sure why they persist with Mason at fullback.? He gets the wobbles under contested bombs, usually landing in the red zone, with disastrous results.
Try him in the halves if you think he has potential. But it's a No No at fullback.
Can someone explain what they see in this experiment? Can't see it ever changing. Had ample time improve?

Galvin going to the team running last with a rookie coach doesn't fit with his stated desire to develop his game in a better environment but we all know that was a pretext for leaving.
That was a pretext. At the point he signed an NRL contract originally with the club Madge was the coach, then Sheens was yet he still asked for a release back then before Marshall was even in the picture.

Agreed - we need to back our coach, playing group and club this week.

They deserve it.

Time bomb at Eels, Moses is THE star over there.

Galvin has his nose out of joint because Benji let him run things last year but this year Benji wants Romey to run things.

I can see things going pear shaped at the Eels with these two trying to run things.
Nah.
Whenever I think of a cool and level headed player . . . you know, one that takes things in his stride, is the first to offer words of encouragement to a team mate that dropped a ball etc, one who never blames others for his mistakes, and most certainly never pouts, hands on hips, before he points to a fellow player and proceeds to call him an unintelligent ladies reproductive fronty bits . . . . That player to me is without doubt . . . . Mitch Moses.
If only we could summon the triumvirate of entitlement, the trio of brattiness, the triangle of F ups . .. . where momentum goes to die . . . . Moses, Galvin and Matterson . . . onto the same side of the field in the same game . . . . buy me a ticket and fetch me the popcorn, thanks !!!!!

Man I hope they get the spoon this year, not a more deserving twat.

Didn’t Mason play at 6 in reserves not long ago?

Clarification Please....

If the Tigers trade Lachie Galvin for another player that means that the Tigers would have to absorb the new players full salary into the Tiger's Cap. At the moment Lachie Galvin is included in the Tigers cap at approx. $250-$350K. So potentially if the Tigers can manufacture a trade for a player of Lachie Galvin's talent that player (playing for club X) might be around the $700K mark on club X's salary cap. So, the Tigers cap takes a hit to accommodate the trade (unless club X absorbs some of the traded players contract in their cap). If I've understood this correctly, then the Tigers are at a disadvantage in letting Lachie go from a financial point of view?
No u get the club who wants Galvin continues to pay there player and we pay Galvin
