Like I mentioned to Tucker it's common sense really, he was asking for a release 3 times last year, doubt it was to spend 2.5 years sitting at home playing playstation. Reckon he's had the other deal from round 1 or 2 last year ready to sign. Think of this aswell, a 19 year old and his parents don't even look at a 5 - 6 million dollar deal, that would set his life up, they wouldn't even look at it, not to mention think about it, why? He's got another deal ready to go for more cash elsewhere, probarbly Parramatta. Don't care how much I hate my workplace, a million a year I'm giving serious consideration, unless the bloke next door is offering similar or more.

No better way to build culture, resolve and comraderie with in the club with two sets of brothers making up 6 of our top 30, obviously if May can get his mental health sorted and his brother comes. Can't see how the bond brothers have playing togeather could be beaten by any other form of bond amongst teammates.

Not rd 1 or 2 last year mate, he hadn’t shown anything by then. The interest wasn’t there like it is now.
There no doubt he has verbals but it also looks possible he just wants out no matter what. Remember he tried to leave before he debuted.

Could we have Fainu brothers (3), Laulilii brothers (2), May brothers (3) and Pole brothers (2). Imagine!

Then in lower grades Johannssen brothers (2), Taotua twins & Lanyon brothers (2) all very good prospects.

Emotive language aside we had this kid for the next 18 months for jackshit salary cap cost.
I agree cashing out early is a good thing sometimes, and if we keep using him until the end of 26, fair enough. If we leverage this info to bring a current rep centre or backrower here fair enough.
We’ll see what happens.

That doesn’t make sense though.
If this is all about money as you suggest, then they would certainly look at the offer but withhold a decision. They could have spent the coming months negotiating more out of Richo and then used that to leverage even more out of the mystery suitor. I mean this is negotiation strategy 101.
Instead they told Shane “don’t bother mate, we’re not interested”. I have the feeling they would have knocked back 7 mill.
 
He had a contract offer from manly last year . Thats why he wanted out . Also the dogs were interested . It’s been well reported that now !
He’s obviously got an eels contract offer on the table .
So this “he just wants out because we suck “ bullshit is not true . It’s just not true . In fact he didn’t just want out when asked before he’d even played an nrl game . He had offers in the table .
