Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yes I agree that was likely going to be the answer this week. Depending on the season progress, he may not have said that in November.
move the thread on hypothetically he is going to parra who do we want

hypothetically he is at the dogs who do we want

ill take jacob preston from the dogs
and guymer from the eels
Hypothetically, we could buy them without a swap.
Just keep him for 18 months twiddling his thumbs while he tries to make peace with his "Mates"

The situation around the Galvin just now stinks of double deals worked between his agent and the intended club he signs for. This is a area that Vandy's needs to stop and suspend agents over it just gives the game a black eye and if proven there was contact between a club or high ranking official then fines need to be applied. at a minimum.
Can you sign a contract by both parties; and not have it dated; [And locked away by a third party that hasn't seen the contents, total innocence] with compulsory joint access come Nov.1? Then surprise, surprise, there is a fresh contract dated Nov. 1?
I know, I watch too many spy thrillers!
Or have it dated Nov. 1; But locked away by a third party?
Too easy!

That doesn’t make sense though.
If this is all about money as you suggest, then they would certainly look at the offer but withhold a decision. They could have spent the coming months negotiating more out of Richo and then used that to leverage even more out of the mystery suitor. I mean this is negotiation strategy 101.
Instead they told Shane “don’t bother mate, we’re not interested”. I have the feeling they would have knocked back 7 mill.
I think you're right. But can you imagine telling your son to knock back a 7 million dollar contract. When the contracts over your 24/25 lol. Mental.

Not rd 1 or 2 last year mate, he hadn’t shown anything by then. The interest wasn’t there like it is now.
There no doubt he has verbals but it also looks possible he just wants out no matter what. Remember he tried to leave before he debuted.
That's true, though with his manager there may be a chance once Sheens was punted, he started talking with other clubs secretly straight away.

Yeah, what I mean is they didn't even look at the new contract, because his group know they have another deal already to go. Whether for more money or not iv no idea, though I think it will be pretty much similar. No way he doesn't look at a 6 million dollar contract without something else to go to.

Yes I’m sure there exists a verbal deal, maybe a couple….and from good clubs.
I don’t think it’s all about money for reasons I mentioned earlier.
Maybe it’s the cultural fit?
Maybe his arrogance has made him unlikeable?
Maybe there’s some jealousy in the group and he gets ignored a bit?
Maybe our preferential treatment of him has made teammates annoyed?
I think he was telling the truth about becoming the best he can be, even though he worded it hideously. He doesn’t trust our club to get him there. However that seems short sighted after seeing how they’re going this year. We have plenty of class and hopefully more to come.

Whatever it is, it won’t paint the club in a good light and that’s the bit that shits me off. Someone or multiples from other clubs are talking crap about WTs. Gus? Ivan? Bennett?

Why would a cultural fit be a bad look for the club?

Why would his arrogance? That’s on him.

The money will look after itself. He is now worth a million a season thanks to our offer/non offer.

I’m merely thinking out loud. Anything can be twisted though to fit any narrative if you try hard enough.
For instance Benji has been big on a cultural inspiration based rebuild. It looks to be working, but has that ostracised white bread Lachy?
Galvins arrogance has been fostered by the club. He was given the keys to the team as an 18 year old and told to play what he see’s. He is now being criticised for doing that.

As for the money, that’s not a factor. He has been earmarked for a big payday since late last year.

What exactly is the culture at Parra under an unproven coach?

His final decision will prove all the above suppositon to be 'what-if' bullshit!

His exposure to NRL has exponentially benefited his development & would not have happened at any other club at his age - any argument against that is utter bullshit!

The pre-determination of this decision for spurious development reasons concocted by a demonstrably vexatious manager is blatantly obvious to any objective individual with a clue!

Stop being the contrary Drama Queen & defer to those who know better (aka our CEO)!
