OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Sorry in advance about the
Long comment, but here goes

I’m a 70 year old tigers supporter who has seen most things rugby league, but the dark side of the Galvin issue is concerning as there are ‘some’ commentators ignoring facts to support team Galvin (Moses)

wests tigers arranged a meeting in regard to a possible upgrade/extension

Moses is stated to have said don’t bother we will be leaving at the end of this contract and here’s a list of grievances regarding the inability of the Tigers to develop Galvin

The Tigers have

Benji who was an elite representative half

Jerome a state and international rep half

Api a state and international hooker

It was the Galvin camp that bluntly ended the contract discussions, not wests tigers

Also any suggestion that the Tigers should have waited till November 1 is also ludicrous.

The galvin camp weren’t waiting as they had met with

Mitch Moses -Parra

Gus Gould - dogs

Assistant coach - dogs

There may have been more

The Tigers had the commercial advantage prior to Nov 1 of being able to upgrade galvins contract for 25 and 26, no other team had that opportunity + they were offering a more than competitive extension.

Every other team attempts to sign their player before Nov 1 if they want to keep them. But somehow the Tigers shouldn’t have by some experts.

But Galvin’s camp weren’t interested under any circumstances apparently.

What does that tell the Tigers beyond we are going elsewhere (even though they can’t ‘sign’ anything at this stage). They obviously have come to ‘terms’ elsewhere or locked in ‘options’

The Tigers press statement was exactly the correct thing to do, so that the Tigers weren’t used as a bargaining tool and the supporters were aware of the circumstances that led to the outcome.

Tigers had done all that they could and Galvins camp ‘shat’ on them on the way out

Disgraceful

I think from the socials the majority of the supporters are behind Richardson and the team stance and would be happy not to see Galvin in the team ever again. Not because he was leaving but because of the disrespect to the club and players. He should be hanging his head in shame.

Even if the tigers lose on Easter Monday I would not want him in the team as there can be no trust with his team mates after what has been said by team Galvin

Sorry abt the length of the comment

PS

Galvins mental health is of concern, and I don’t think team Galvin are dumb, but the possible blow back obviously wasn’t a consideration/concern for them, just another ‘tool’ to achieve an outcome.
(Same play sheet as Mitch Moses exit from the tigers if my memory is working ?)

If you watch the recent Wade Graham comments about the whole Lachie Galvin saga, he makes more sense than anyone.
He states yes Isaac Moses is at fault in his actions and comments as his manager, but Richo by putting out the statement about Galvin leaving is not any better.
As Wade says all the discussions with Galvin should have been kept in house and if we remain in the too 8 as the season progresses we could have been in a much better position to again speak with Galvinlater in the season with him possibly changing his mind and wanting to stay.
All this has done as alienated him and turned all our fans against him, keeping in mind the vast majority of 19 years olds think, say and do stupid things, often things they regret if they are given enough time to think about it.
Everyone knows Isaac Moses is a master manipulator, but Richo’s actions have just fallen into his trap.
I get where you’re coming from but don’t agree. If Richo hadn’t released it first then Issac would have when it suited his agenda, as u said he is the master manipulator.
This way we controlled the narrative not them, they are currently using all there parasites to try to get some ascendancy back. If good old Galvin came with a list of 16 grevenses then I doubt he was going to change at any stage. He either is easily led or just a self entitled peace of shite. I think both personally.
For s all that bunji gave him them to turn on him like he did, is unforgivable. He would hardly even be heard of if Bunji didn’t help him out.

Nope completely disagree. Isaac Moses does not like the Tigers & will do anything possible for his players to leave the club. Moses & Galvin knew they were never staying & I guarantee you they would’ve just stringed the club along to get more dollars somewhere else with the intention of never staying here. This way we got clarity early & the club has let everyone know they’re done being pawns to prop up other players contracts.

This is the only part of your post that matters.
The rest is emotion talking.

Seems strategic timing someone called Moses ( Issac) knew maybe a week ago the "bazooka " they were going to fire
At the same time someone called Moses( Mitchell) is surprisingly available and picked for Rd 7 when 7 days before he said he was targeting Rd 9 return
Certain Mitch knew what was about to unfold with Galvin
This agent is supposed to represent players and their welfare
Isaac Moses was once deregistered by the NRL .Think it should happen again
he has actually had 2 run ins with the nrl - a 6 months ban for involvement in the melbourne salary cap scandal and then deregistration for getting tim mannah to lie to the nrl. In both cases he lied about client contracts and also got his clients to lie. The low life grub has form and you would have to be pretty naive to think he isn't lying once his lips satrt moving.

IMO
Galvin is a extremely fit player that just loves competing for everything,
Is he worth the money that is being mentioned ?
IMO
He is a NRL player
Not a superstar
Gould saying he could be the best young player gob smacks me,
doesn’t he remember when
Sterlo made his debut with parramatta or Freddy with Penrith
Just to name two (I’m sure others can name more)
IMO
Both stood out from day 1 as Superstar of the future (and lived up to the expectations)
I don’t see it in Galvin and am glad we are not going to be paying him that type money.
I wish him all the best in the future where ever he ends up.
Galvins coach dominated the league at 19 and lead his team to a title. . My galaxy brain take on the Gould stuff . He wanted us or the eels to overpay for a player he knew wasn’t worth it , to cause salary cap problems , and put restrictions on his geographical rivals .
I also think the tigers only offered Galvin the money to force the issue with the eels , as they’ve known for a while he’s gone. If Benji or whoever said to Galvin 2 months ago if he doesn’t sign we will have To drop him , as reported today, the team has known for a while what’s really happening . And probably values latu as much if not more than Galvin . The only reason Galvin is the darling of the nrl is the smile , he’s a ray of light at the basket case tigers, and he’s was in first .
It’s insane to me how much press Someone who doesn’t contribute to wins gets , when there’s a guy in Redcliffe who’s IMO the best young half I’ve seen in years .
But Galvins the generational talent ? Hahaha whatever ! He’s not even the best 19 year old half at his club .

Can't continue to allow clubs to remain at the mercy of Isaac Moses to save some heat for his star commodity. There is not a shadow of a doubt he has been selling Lachie to other clubs to our detriment. He came armed to the meeting with seven grievances he knew exactly what he was doing and Richo met him head on.
If nothing else it has at least got the NRL taking notice otherwise this scum will continue to screw us and Lachie was gone anyway.
You want to support the tactics of an unscrupulous manager than you have to be prepared to take some ownership.
Let the ex players and fans who all have their own agenda when they share the opinion to have a crack as a club we have been screwed one too often.

This is normal contract negotiation actions.
Both sides need to be prepared and it sounds like they were.
No story here.

This isn’t unprecedented. Plenty of clubs lose guys they developed to stronger outfits and it’s really annoying. Everyone is always talking to everyone behind the scenes. The community isn’t that big, they all know each other. You have to sell your story before the negotiations begin. In this case, Galvin clearly wasn’t listening and hasn’t been for some time evidently.

Agree
100%

I am going to agree with you,

But perhaps Braith Anasta isn't the best judge of Character. You know if say Tim Mannah or Brett Hodgson said someone was a shithead then ill rate that.
Why would you use Tim Mannah as an example - he lied to the NRL to protect himself and Isaac Moses during the parra debacle.

Agree with the Gould comments , he doesn’t use his comments in his media roles to sign players , he uses them to sabotage other clubs to pay more or go after the wrong player

No begrudging Lachie not wanting to renegotiate a new contract the agitating for a release by making the situation untenable is classic Isaac Moses. The seven greivances were always going to be leaked whether Richo moved first or not. Parra dont want to wait till 2027 they want him now and we have rolled to this bloke once too often. Rather cop some heat than look pathetic.

Do you think any other manager would have problems with a coach’s body language or do you think any other manager would write up a list of grievances to disrespect a head coach?
Wests Tigers and every other NRL club knows Isaac Moses talks out of his backside, so whenever he says anything out of order, we should just be laughing it off and treating it with a grain of salt.
If we really wanted to keep Lachie we should have just had a private meeting with he, Richo and Benji without his manager or anyone else involved and simply stated “We met with Isaac, he stated you are not happy playing for Wests Tigers and we are not going to pressure you, but we really want you to stay long term and be the face of the club, therefore between now and November we will work with you, try and resolve any issues you have, continue trying to win as many games as we can and hope to have another discussion to see if you have changed your mind in a couple of months time”.
