Not saying I have an inside word or anything, and maybe this has already come out, but I have heard that we are about to announce a few new signings in the next week or so, one of which has all happened quickly off the back of the Galvin saga. My money is on KPP to be coming here for 2026. Will be interesting to hear who the other/s are.

Heck, I'd add 1 more team - make it 20 teams- and then 2 x 10 division groups- admit the quality overall will be a bit less but- the NRL has to take control of the juniors system and expand it into new areas and expect in years to come, a greater flow of reasonable State Cup / NRL capable players. Juniors Expansion- well already PNG & Perth will have some local set up- maybe a 2nd NZ team, an oceania team representing Fiji, Tonga & Samoa, and develop linkages with English junior league comps. Sure we can pick the teeth out of Union but not too many winners come through, but when theyre good, theyre really good. Also as we know Union can raid us too. We need to develop and grow internally.

Matterson was by far MoM Koe last week. Immediate upgrade for ability sake. Worth a short contract - I doubt he fits our culture though. And don’t want him used as pawn for anyone

We shouldn’t but cheap back up and likely keen for FG. I doubt it will happen but he is ahead of our depth

He'd be on at least reasonable money at the Eels and I suspect he'd rather play KOE on reasonable money for one year than accept a short term contract at WTs.

Must be players not contracted beyond 2025 which would make for a weaker bunch I’d have thought

Had a quick look and not the case there are some good options

My guess the 3 signings are
1. Taylan May has been dropping hints that his new team will have Black and Orange colours.
2. KPP recently had a meeting with Benji and has been rumoured for a while.
3. Kobe Hetherington he agreed to come this year but Madge stopped that.
I haven’t heard anything about contracts for next year with Kobe and KPP with any team and that’s consistent with the way Richo works. Kobe is the one for me that has a question mark on it because we’ve heard rumours about a Halfback.

Plus both Newcastle and Brisbane both have salary cap pressures and Richo said players become available because of that.
