Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We should extend TDS & Adam Douihei.

Then I think we need 6 - 8 signings to round out the top 30 for 2026.

I'm going with;

Taylan May (starting centre)
Tyrone May (back up half / lock)
Kai Pearce Paul (backrow)
Suli Pole (Prop depth)
Elie El Zakhem (internal, backrow depth, better than Tumeth)
Krystian Mapapalangi (internal, outside back depth, replacing Staines, Naden, Feledy)

And hopefully some room to move if any big fish becomes available that will benefit us.

Taylan & KPP will be decent contracts, but we need to focus on depth too and the other signings are good value for money type signings, hopefully.
Where’s Doueihi playing when you sign Taylah May and Makasini comes through?

I like this. Is there any talk Suli Pole is wanting out of the Storm? I think Naden will be retained and don't think Taylan will be on a huge contract until he has proven himself on the field and off it.

Richo said we will be signing three or four playes
in the next three or so weeks. (on the James Graham podcast).
Someone said we have up to 5 players that will ask for release.
(on this forum)

For those players to ask for release , does that not then mean that the
players we will sign are better than those asking for release , and
they feel that they will have limited to zero playing time?
If we had 5 players wanting a release, some would likely have been done already. More like the number of off contract players at the end of 2025.

No talk at all about Suli.
Wishful thinking.

I can't see Naden being retained.
Telegraph was reporting South's were interested.

I think our centre/wing depth of this year will be all out the door and hopefully replaced.

Melbourne is looking for players and can't find any - Next man up theory being tested.
Says alot about the demands of the competition and how that impacts on the NRLs desire to expand.

Melbourne will just have to rely on that large junior base for a while …

The game as a whole needs to start going after overseas Rugby Union players …

I am so confused about nrls rapid expansion plan. with such a shallow talent pool, The product quality is going to be so poor that it will attract very few new followers. Obviously that just my opinion

It’s not as dire as we think , the Covid years stalled development for a year or two but now that comps restarted juniors are coming through at the younger levels. Next year or two the batches that are 17-20 I think will start making a impact
