If Latu’s injury run continues that effectively leaves us with Heath Mason in the halves. He’s played no first grade there and been fount out defensively when he has defended in the front line. We have to be thinking about another option (and we definitely are given the Reynolds comments)

I thought Mason was fairly sound defensively. Still a kid and as strong as he is, he'll get even better. Good acceleration, brave, plays well in the halves. I think he has a future in NRL at 9 or 6. Or 14.

I believe that is around half of his 2025 salary (the amount we’ve already paid). So essentially we’re getting back the money we’ve paid him already for this season.
