Playing without a second rower is bold but could improve us all the same.

I really don’t see how we can let Bird or Naden back on the field till they go back and show form in KOE. Let’s back some of these young forwards and give them an opportunity.

If Skelton and or Latu are fit, Skelton to 5 and Latu to 14.

Bringing Skelton straight in for Staines.
Latu to start as our potential long-term 5/8 - Mason to replace him at 60 mins.
Hunt to revert back to impact before & after HT.
Rahme has been ultra consistent in Cup the past month, good metres & defence. Basically replaces Twal for the week.

IMO Mason has done nothing wrong to lose the 6. Latu needs to come back into the team via the bench and show his match fitness and win the starting role.

Fair point. I’m just going with a long-term view. Latu is our best option & Mason as a #14. Latu can still be on minutes restrictions for 1-2 weeks with Mason finishing the game.

I get the dislike for Bird’s form but I think giving him an edge role and simplifying his role might see improvement. Just want to see him running crash lines like Nikora at Sharks.

I agree with you that if fit, that is our strongest option, but I also like the idea of the young guys competing for spots when returning from injury. Either way, I can’t wait for when our team list has both Mason and Latu in it regardless of who is at 6 or 14 👍

I agree mostly with this team. I wouldn’t mind seeing Latu gets some miles in his legs in Reggie’s. While Bird is questionable atm, I’d probably stick with him due to his versatility over Murray.
