Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Seeing there are no signings to talk about …let’s unpack this one a bit…

I think the history of Harry T’s previous generosity at the Wests Tigers might be a little over stated …

He was a jersey sponsor for a few years …. So he was buying an advertising service that promoted his company..

He has stated several times since that ended ( not recently though) that he was prepared to help the club ( presumably through third party deals …) but did he actually do so?
He always said if the club needed him he would be there, in terms of sponsorship and stuff. It's like HBG, we have a resource that we refuse to use. I'd love to know why Harry doesn't seem to be as active as he was,I know it was mainly through his affiliation through Balmain Leagues Club, maybe now they're gone he's lost interest, though he was a massive supporter and contributor. I wonder if he saw things or heard things that just didn't sit right with him.

I’m as frustrated as any 1 but I’m 100% certain Ricoh ain’t just sitting in his office eating KitKats. There would be a ton of stuff happening behind the scenes. We just need to be patient cause we all know there is some big news coming. Well hopefully haha
You paint a funny image though, Richo punching through bags of KitKats waiting for the phone to ring.

Had the quality of signings he made last year not happened, I'd be real worried. After what he brought in last year I'm not one bit. Just want to know who he's bringing in.

It’s the or otherwise part that bothers me.
We’ll probably end up with a list like we had at the start of the year with contracts offered to and rejected by Horsburgh and Hetherington…
Possibly , however if kept inhouse which it seems to be it will only be speculation.

I like many on the forum want to see some good signings given we have lost plenty of players with few in return.
Some of the suggestions from Demps earlier which gives us depth and hopefully players that want to play for us are what I believe is where we will be, not the David Fifita big name players even though that would be great and what we need

Whilst we have until June 30 to have the squad finalised I believe players like Galvin will still count as part of the squad numbers even though he has left.

Tyrone May - he'd make a "good" utility. He was a part of a grand final winning team just a few years ago. Toiling away in super league. I could see him being a Kurt Mann type player, which would benefit us.

Taylan May - uniting the trio brothers. This would be great for training and Taylan strengthens a weakness we have. Has that sort of mongrel we kind of lack in the backs. We've seen how the Fainu bros love being at the same club. The May bros would really benefit us, brotherhood is something special.

Suli Pole - Fonuas brother. Come join the pack lad. He's only young, so we can develop him in the lower grades & hope for the best. Good prospect.

Kai Pearce-Paul - it's all been said, he's being mis used at Newcastle. He would be a dynamic option in our backrow and I could see his attacking skills really opening up at the Tigers. Get the deal done.

Krystian Mapapalangi - this will be your next favourite player. 1 to 6, he can cover it all. He should be elevated to top 30 and fill in when needed, however I could see him making a centre position his own. The kid is a very talented player. Otherwise he's an upgrade on our centre depth, with some likely departing.

Harrison "Harry" Hassett - those who watch the lower grades will know the name. Played first grade the other week at the Panthers and scored a try. Looks like a promising prospect and will strengthen our backrow depth. Good bench option & won't break the bank.

Lazarus Vaalepu - Samoan prop in the Melbourne system. Off contract. Big lad and we need some props badly. Very handy player that would fit in within what were building.

Viliami Fifita - 24 year old prop at the Dragons, came through the Manly system with the Fainu bros. Another big lad. Would be a welcome addition to our pack in an area we need desperately to bolster.

We need his help now …club is at rock bottom these past few years ,,, he did migrate from Balmain over to Wests Tigers with sponsorships and public words of support …

You are right though …I see he is 92 these days and has been out of the public eye for a while …. The club has probably missed the boat …

i don’t get why newy is letting dane go, their cap must be absolutely stretched.
Spending a lot of coin on Ponga & Brown.
They want to bring Dom Young back.
Bit of collateral damage on the way.

1. Ponga
2. Don Young
3. James Schiller ( rumoured to be wanting to play centre )
4. Brad Best
5. Greg Marzhew
6. Fletcher Sharle
7. Dylan Brown

Outside backs depth:
Kyle McCarthy
Wilson De Courcey
Fletcher Hunt
Taj Annan
Logan Aoke

And whoever else they've got floating around the pathways. Not an amazing depth chart but when I doubt they have much cash to spend.

Hes not his usual damging self these days, whether thats a result of the team combined or just a personal slump in form...I dunno but hes been way down on his usual strong game
I think you only need to look at ponga and his lack of impact...
Its an issue with the club.
