OFFICIAL Taylan "Tiny" May

Richo literally gave us a time line 3 to 4 weeks training then back through cup, if hes playing well enough by then he's a shot at FG. But yes agree 5 weeks minimum before we see him back in 1st, unless there's a catastrophic injury toll between now and then in the outside backs.
Yep, that's what those numbers are based off. Said it a week ago no? But yes, he really is mostly a signing for next year, not this one. If he played 3-4 games at the end of the year that would be great IMO.

I thought he was on a train and trial for this season.

If he’s designed for next season, we should probably lock him in shouldn’t we?

Otherwise, we have to face the might and power of Souths and those who would want to harm us.

I think Gould has denied any interest…and that’s always a worry.

Mate, Tiny was a very good winger 3 years ago. He was an average centre 18 months ago. It's not like we've just signed Herbie or Critta or even another T'oa. I think you need to relax.

He’s got a good sleight of hand, inch perfect pass, a fair turn of speed and deceptive power. I’ve been watching the footage of him bending huge props over without too much of a run up on returns.

He’ll put a lot of respect back into our line with his strike and I think he’s going to create opportunities for everyone around him. That’s what fast and focused players do.

We haven’t had his class of player in our centres for a long time.

I love Adam, but he’s a very different style of player.

May-coming back from injury and drama, the sky’s the limit for him. So yep, Im pretty confident about him and what he will bring. Once he gets his claws into it, I think he could have the same impact on our side as his brother.

A fully amped up Taylan surrounded by our current crew will “complete” our backline and be entitled to the description of being “lethal.”

My thoughts anyway. It’s great to have him. Massive.

Has anyone even seen his training yet?
Ive seen this question asked a few times and no one has answered...
Surprised he isn't in the social media snaps... Maybe it's strategic and they are keeping it low key so he can focus on his footy without distractions...

The moment he plays NRL again, he's going to be splashed all across the media for sure with ppl questioning whether he should be playing etc .

I feel Taylan will be kept in the back ground for a while , he has plenty of support around him in his Brother , Luai , And others , he will also have plenty of support from around his family and friends including panthers ex team mates , The club know the risk and will do everything it can to keep him focused , his brother will also let him know its most likely his last chance to get back to the top level and earn good money , I’m happy we have him and feel he will come good and get a 3 year deal at the end of his year , first grade games maybe in about 6 weeks or so , he won’t play any games I think for a couple more weeks then play off the bench first up and progress with match fitness via reserve grade , I hope he makes it as he will be handy ,

A fan posted photos from training in a WT supporter group on Facebook last week. In a few pics, he was with S&C staffer Graeme Morris which is understandable.

Because it means it’s discussed in places that normally it’s dismissed. Even if it’s only discussed for a second , and they’re like “whatever tigers ! As if “ it’s now a thing! So now the refs have to actively be aware of this now especially if they done Richo or Benji , if the howlers continue at the rate they have these last 12-24 months then it becomes a huge thing .
At the very least it plants a seed in thier mind . When it’s us screaming at them there’s zero value in it , as it’s just white noise .
It’s hardly scape goating and deflecting blame .
Last week the game changed in its head when those penalties were given . A team like the panthers can simply grind you into the ground with the slightest leg up , especially when they’re mentally switched on in defence.
The 2 sin bins against the cowboys gave them a 30 point head start , which Sutton has not reinforced those penalties in any games since then or prior, even giving away 3 straight penalties for no sin bin .
I have zero issue with foul play , poor discipline , punishing bad/ ineffective defence . But howlers that actively influence a game one way or another is just bullshit .
Like that Wong try the other day . We have had several of those disallowed in the last 2 years.
He’s 💯 right there’s two sets of officiating in the nrl . And by backing up Benji and reinforcing what I assume is those behind closed doors opinion , in front of the camera , it now heaps pressure on the nrl . The issue will be if it continues and we don’t say anything .
The only thing moving forward is escalation if the behaviours continue .
It will have been a complete waste of time , if they both shut up next week should it continue .
I agree about your issue with the howlers, but for me it’s not clear how us raising it is going to shine a spotlight on it.

And Richo and Benji, from the same club performing poorly despite howlage.

If there is a two tier system, as they assert, then the whole nrl contest lacks integrity and there is no point joining in or following it.

There was no need for them to go public with disgruntlement anyway.

The NRL are not silly, they can’t say “ go easy on the struggling sides”

Whether it changes anything, we don’t know.

Also, the comp is very close. Tends to suggest howlers are evenly spread.

I’d like to see more tech to deployed to minimise howlage.

Ultimately, we need to look at what we are doing, not the refs etc. They may have the odd impact, but they are not the reason we are struggling.

Those are my views on the topic anyway.

As a member I was a bit embarrassed by it tbh.

We are struggling for legacy reasons, underperforming players, average coaching etc. No one reason, but they interconnect.
