Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Probably start showing NRL ability in July 2027 , just in time for him to go back to the new PNG team
Then he’d want to become an Australian citizen first to get Albos tax breaks and take full advantage of all the incentives.

The minimum wage in png is less than AUD $11 a day, a bit over $4k per annum.

Let’s say he hits average nrl wage, he’s on close to 90 times the minimum, the Aussie equivalent of $4.5m.

It’s probably unsafe for him in Port Moresby, so him and his family may have to live in the NRL compound or build one and hire security.

Anyway, we will need to look after him properly here. Keep him away from Satan and from NRL gangsta life.

Need a translator as well I’d fancy.

Get the translator to impress upon him that we are the greatest rugby league club in history and all good things like that.

He’s very welcome.

He will play in that first PNG team in 28…. Unless maybe it gets delayed a year or two ?

There is a new rule from (next year?) that you can sign PNG players for the next 2 years and it sits outside the cap to help develop them for 2028 or so.

I am all for it, but would rather a big tough forward, even if they are only a 15 min forward to add stocks to us there.

Hadn’t heard that …might make sense then to go after him …someone will

We might have to check our privilege and slum on with a few scouting trips to the rugby union.

I know a union forward is a risk…

They aren’t especially mobile, but some of them are huge and robust. Could get a solid 15 minutes out them surely.

That would be 15 minutes over a season. The days of having Ray Price type of forwards in rugby union have long since gone.

I reckon he is too short for a modern day winger. They targeted him all night with kicks. A bit like what QLD did to To’o last night.
He’s very rated here…
I don’t see it happening for him,
He’s small, not quick has a bit of a carry - but he’s hardly a To’o or Utai…

good game from Luke his carries out of yardage were strong and he handled most high balls well

didn’t get much attacking space mostly bc of the halves

The singular play was to pass to that massive unit on the edge who just tucked the ball under the arm and ran. I can’t recall him passing before the line to the centre or winger.
Luke was energetic and made hard carries but not given much room.
