Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I’m getting concerned for next year with our squad. We have signed 1 new player for next year, and no one else. Remember players for next year could negotiate as of Nov 1 last year. Who else is there to sign now to improve us? Someone feed me some reassurance 🙏🙏🙏

We are waiting for someone to fall out with the current employer and break contract I think. Hoping a T May falls out of another tree?

Didn't someone say a week or so ago he had hurt his ribs?
Yeah playing with broken ribs, I said the bloke was a machine if true even with virtually no involvement, I'd be hard up walking let alone trying to play a game, but why wouldn't he just be recovering, why would he be in reserve grade. Benji said in a presser after his last first grade game when asked about Royce being sent to reserve grade that he's in there to get more minutes in him. 🤷

I think Benji not playing TDS the other night was a big mistake, if he was gonna carry him he had to give him game time. This basically says to him I don’t trust you will perform, I can’t risk you even for 15 minutes.. we were never going to be comfortable in front that he would be happy to give Api a spell, so what was his plan?..
Look at our bench though:
Pole, Prop... makes sense.
TDS, Hooker. Should have gotten some game time.
Latu, Fainu... Mainly a half but could do hooker/lock/back row if someone got injured...
Jack Bird... 5/8 or 2RF who can cover our backs.

Our front row did not collapse last night. Canberra got some quick tries and held their line for awhile.
But why on earth did we have this bench??? Why bring TDS, even if he is leaving to play Api for 80 minutes. That Haywood? coming through better be good.

Yeah agree. Think Sukkar should be at a minimum on the bench. Would be happy with Seyfarth starting for first 20/30 then bring Sukkar on to finish the match with Seyfarth able to do a 2nd stint in the middle if needed.

for a younger pack they did really well against Canberra’s more experienced one

Our bench is how it is because with the 3 props we have they cover 160 mins and we have Twal who can go into the front row too. May effectively is 2 props. That means we have more flexibility with the other spots to cover all injury eventualities

I'd be chasing the kid, Kayliss from NZ.

There is a few good players floating around.
I hope we've got some targets.
His NSW Cup stats read great and is only 20y.o so you would expect plenty of improvement still to come.
He is stuck behind plenty of other back rowers at the Warriors, so should be a player who would strongly consider joining us for much better NRL opportunity.
Do you know if he predominantly plays left or right edge ?
Based on quality of performance in the Qld Cup competition I’d also consider Liam Sutton as a back up halfback option and Jayden Hunt as a big body with good mobility to add pressure and back up quality on an adge.
One of your other suggestions Viliami Fifita really impressed me with his strong carries and athleticism for a big man against our Wests Magpies NSW Cup team on Saturday.
