Tallyn Da Silva #270

Oh look @Tucker is back and what’s he doing ….. bagging the club and Benji !
How’s your favourite Madge going ? About to get sacked is my prediction . Won’t have a job come this time next year …
Anyways … if Benji shits the bed the rest of the year I can see the club moving him into the front office .. and going after Toddy boy who won’t have a job by the end of July .
Todd Payten is your next choice LMFAO…
We’re trying to get away from the boys club that’s weighed this joint down for 2 decades.
You really don’t have a clue do you?

This club has done us bad once again, richo has sun so much about a “development club” yet he has let 3 of our best juniors go and not replaced them, if the culture is poor it must be the top priority for improvement, but if these kids are leaving because our coach is incompetent then he should probably go too, as his results have been poor as well
Sorry but who are the best three juniors? In your opinion they are the best three juniors, I don't get the love fest for TDS he is fast out of dummy half and that is it ala Damien Cook. Galvin okay he is quality but still questionable, Large see previous comment.
The main reason why a lot of these "kids" are leaving is because they are spoilt little brats who were promised all sorts of crap by Sheens and Pascoe, the club is now taking a stand. You don't create a strong culture being pushed around by upstarts. As for the Benji beat up, have you actually watched any of the games this year? We have gone from regular thrashings to be highly competitive and with a bit of luck would be firmly in the top five of the comp, when expert players say that they can see the side is well coached, such as Andrew Johns, the Benji beat up is delusional stuff and agenda based dribble.

It is also funny how short some people's memories are, plenty were saying TDS was poo at the end of last year now he is the second coming of Cameron Smith. I would assume experts in this field such as Richo, Benji would know TDS worth. The media saying he will be an Origin hooker is laughable, he has been a standout in a handful of KOE games and that is it. To lose Api over him would be one of the dumbest decisions ever made.

Great post. Our team is competitive and much improved. I live in the Illawarra and to have supporters from other clubs say it is good to see the WTs competitive and playing good football is nice to hear. I attribute this to the new culture from Marshall, Richardson with assistance from Koroisau, Luai, Bula and co. As for these young players, Da Silva is still under contract and it pays to remember where you came from.

Kid is hot property.

Be sad to see him go.
Think we need to roll the dice and keep him and Api and let things work themselves out , down the track.

Perhaps with Api finishing his career at 14 then moving into assistant coaching job.

I'm a big fan of TDS but Api is the heart of the club.
Yes it is difficult but Anasta confirmed Da Silva doesn't want to serve an apprenticeship under Koroisau. That he is hot property strengthens our position and hopefully if he is released, we see a player(s) in return to strengthen our team. I haven't seen the Bulldogs linked to Da Silva? Is their cap full😁?

So he’s performed the best recruitment drive of any coach, yet is still struggling to avoid his 3rd straight spoon?
What does that tell you?
It tells me that we have lost 6 games by 1 try or less , and that we have been a little bit unlucky this season , and that we also have no depth..however , I also agree that he should be resting api and playing talyn and that I expect the man managing coach to be able to manage this situation to keep our star junior that actually wants to be at the club .. if Benji forgoes that then it will really support a narrative I am doing my best not to buy into right now ..

From all accounts he is disposable compared to young Haywood, who the club rates very highly and has apparently a lot higher ceiling. TDS going won't scare the club too much with Haywood the long term option after Api, also the club will not lose Api you can bank on that.
Until Heyward and makasini and all the rest do the same.

The rot needs to stop.

Exactly the whole narrative about he won three wooden spoons is absolute garbage, he was the Head Coach in 2024 prior to that it was Sheens, Noddy/Madge. Anyone who can't see the improvements since the Sheens/Madge years obviously has an agenda.

I’ll eat my left sand shoe if Haywood ever reaches the heights Tallyn Da Silva is destined to attain.

I see this as yet another Tedesco moment in our club’s faltering retention history

None of the top teams bowe to pressure from potential like lower on the ladder
The outcome has to be in the club’s call imo
At the end of the day it would be good to keep both but I’d prefer to keep proven over potential
If Taylan does leave it doesn’t stop him from returning if he leaves on good terms

No doubt he is a very good player of potential, but so is Haywood so there is no need to be a downer on a young player's career. Haywood has the advantage of being able to play 9 as well as 6 or 7.

Can we stop comparing TDS with Teddy Jebus. Teddy is a freak, and from the moment he stepped on the field uninjured, he was a star. Nothing TDS has done as of yet shows anywhere near that skill level. Added to that, he plays hooker, which is currently a semi-important position, but nothing compared to fullback.

The kid may be good, but to put him on a Moses or teddy line is just inaccurate.
