Good for him, he has crafted a decent career out of pretty stock standard talent...including 2 premiership rings.
It just shows if you fully committ you can achieve in this game.

I honestly have never really rated him but he's had a good run, well done to him.

Sounds like the next club will be ordinary so the good days of finals are over.

to him too.I still remember his comeback game against us a couple of years back at Parra stadium.

Not sure how this is relevant to my statement about Toa choosing to stay or not… but if he leaves then yeah,,,don’t have a problem with signing Mariner …

My problem as stated earlier is paying Mariner like $500k plus to get him to the club and he is behind May and Star and only sees the field through injury …

Let’s wait and see how May looks later this season …if that means Mariner signs elsewhere than so be it

I think Mariner is a long way ahead of To’a in terms of pure attacking quality and although we are hoping Taylan May quickly discovers his form prior to his hiatus, we don’t know for sure if that will happen just yet.
IF we signed Cobbo and somehow got him fit and motivated, he would be a long way ahead of any of our outside backs.

Why not loan to manly for 18 months. Manly get a good hooker until Ashton Large is ready & Tigers get a player developing in 1st grade who comes back a way better player ready to take over. Seems like a win for everybody, that is under the assumption he does want to be a Tiger long term

The issue with that, and even if TDS agrees to that sort of a deal, is that he gets comfortable with his new surroundings, forms new friendship and maybe he even has some success there and he wants to stay.

Maybe it turns out that he doesn't want to come back and prefers to stay and they want him to stay and as we all know whatever contract he has for in 18 months time is not worth the paper it is printed on especially if it's with the Wests Tigers who always let players go for nothing in return. 😡

Let's give Mariner 2x 400, 450max.
Realistically he'd be a walk up start into our current backline, on wing or in centres.
We need depth, at least 2 of our current backs aren't NRL standard,.so if they get pushed to cup then so be it.
There is not a single outside back at our club who is a lock in their position

We seem to talk up our current t players like they are superstars, yet funnily enough we can’t win a game.

Only on contract this year and next.
Not getting much of a look at Parra currently.

Not a bad player imo.
Worth a shot to play back up whilst we develope Heywood.

Ok mate …fair enough … you have a higher opinion of Mariner than I do which is your prerogative …it’s not the end of the world for me if he comes here, although I’ve heard nothing beyond peoples wishing for it to happen here, so I would put the likelihood as low

My focus now continues to be improving the forwards ,,, they need 2, ideally 3 more ..

To put that into perspective, Isaac Moses didn't even get a mention after all the crap that he has been involved in, go figure.

If we lose TDS, he would be a handy pick up.
Danny Levi would be another option as would Freddy Lussick who I believe was mentioned by The Chad yesterday.
I think someone like Lachlan Ilias trumps all of them if we got him at a decent cost with the Dragons chipping in.
Not totally disregarding our own Josese Lanyon either, he’s been very impressive for our Jersey Flegg team in recent weeks.

A few of these players would add some much needed depth to our forwards 👍
I’m not sold on Harrison Hassett, he’s a smaller back rower which we are seemingly trying to get away from and although he played ok in his NRL debut this season, his NSW Cup stats are mostly underwhelming.
Compare him to someone like Aaron Schoupp who is only a couple of years older, has NRL experience, has versatility to play in the centres or edge back row, looks to be much quicker and a more powerful, more threatening ball runner.
