‘We’re putting our eggs into Api’s basket’: Benjidefends prioritising captain’s signature

Interested to see what happens tonight

If Api plays well at 1/2

We could run with Bula, Luai, Api & TDS

L. Fainu at lock in future
Sorry mate but I think that stinks and besides when Api has played to cover in the halves previously, he said he wasn't keen on it in a post interview.

What a load of crap.
Fair dinkum use some common sense and think rather than believe crap on line.
I'm backing Tired Tiger on this one.

It's not about 2027. Surely by then Api is moving to Super league, Coaching or a bench hooker fill in. It's about who is our main hooker in 2026 and now.

If you want the spot, STAND UP AND EARN IT!
Look I am not saying TDS ain't good. But we have the space on the bench for him to perform and demand selection. He hasn't done so.

He could either beef up and go into lock OR push for a wing/center spot and he hasn't.
He could train the house down and Benji would give him a go. He hasn't.

TDS isn't pushing for first grade in a side with spots open. The same effort will be applied in 2026 and 2027. Not saying he ain't talented, I am saying he is not even in Api's league.

alas, it dinnit go well.

It's hard to tell if Api at 9 and TDS at 5/8 would have made a difference.... Because we kinda saw Heath Mason blow one try (it happens) and manly just seemed to run through us. Luai really missed in defense with an inexperienced fullback, it really showed.

Api doesn't have a body of a lock, but I would prefer him to move there instead of 5/8.

How ironic is this statement now given Api is out next week and TDS is virtually gone. Now imagine Api picking up a serious injury.

Is he gone, or will we hold him for this year.
What I find interesting is he was given permission to negotiate his next contract 6 months early yet Manly publicly have stated that have spoken about him for next year. That mean’s unofficially we have at least granted him a release for next year.

Agree but tds service from dh was off

Can’t judge TDS on one game, with all the pressure of the contract crap this week. Simply unfair.
Yes he’s not ready right now, everyone knows that. But api is here to the end of 26, Tallyn will be ready by then. We know that api now barely makes it through 80 minutes now, and in the last 20 he gives shite service and barely runs. How is he going to be two years older??
Dumb move by bunji, he’s obviously got beer goggles on when it comes to api!
If Tallyn wants to stay it’s simple, u tell him he can leave next season on a lone deal only, then sign him for 3 more years.
