Please tell us that’s not true, 950k for a 35y.o hooker would be very Wests Tigers like.

If Da Silva is confident in his ability to play consistently good football in the NRL, he would have remained a WT and competed with Koroisau for the hooking role. Instead, he went to the Eels for an alleged $650 and we have been informed of some agreement not to block his path should Koroisau be re-signed. With the huge gulf in ability and attitude between Da Silva and Koroisau, the difference in alleged value is warranted. I wish we had more Koroisau's in our club with the fine example he sets to his fellow players.

All I can think is that we have a lot of $$ left in the kitty and an independent board who based on their experience all know what they're doing. The community pathways bloke Mielekamp has the runs on the board too. Our Cup team has not been dire for 6 weeks now as the more experienced players recruited have made a difference. Our Flegg team looks to have improved. Surely, surely, all of that points to better times ahead.

However Benji is not it, imo, and that is our weakness atm. His management has led to Galvin leaving and I think TDS too (don't mind TDS going although not for free).

Well loads of players have left this year so far and June 30 is gone and again we do zero to improve our team for the rest of the season , we have 100% weakened it ( Galvin , Klemmer , TDS ) just to name 3 but for the life of me I can’t get why we don’t bring in new blood , is it now a fact nobody want to come hear again; KPP. Is next year where we’re a few to help this year , we don’t have enough to compete so a spoon is very likely

There is talk that the Broadcast deal will be going up by 50 percent or even more come as early as 2027, but certainly by 2028 at the latest

This will lead to a proportionate increase in the cap…

You need to start thinking appropriately

Once it happens Tom, if you start signing players on that basis and the broadcast deal is only increased by 15% your cap is ruined.

Maybe so. But to let them all go without a player in return just looks like a sh!t show.
Particularly local juniors who we have put a lot of development into. Perhaps we were boxed in by the whole Galvin legal stuff and didn’t have a strong leverage position, but I can’t see from any angle how we benefit from letting TDS go this year without something come back the other way. And if anyone says transfer fees, I, and pretty much every supporter says, who cares. Transfer fees are inconsequential to everyone but the bean counters.

You have to have 1)a player we wanted, 2)that player would have to want to swap clubs.
