Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Disappointing last few days tbh..

Pretty high on Richo but nothing but releasing players and nothing brought in or even an extension for Api or Tao etc..

Surely he knows us fans are upset as we are the ones paying for this and do expect something.

The deadline was yesterday and the club has not even advised who they upgraded internally even though no one deserves it.

Fingers crossed for some good news soon.

Exactly right … Im not confident it’s changing though… it probably doesn’t matter who they bring in if the club isn’t going to spend more money
wouldn’t that be up to richo to squeeze more out or do they give him a set figure and say make it work.

Ok. I took this as giving up on the field. I don’t think they have given up on the field and you’d hope that remains whether we come 9th or last.

What do you expect them to do on the field now? ( the rest of the season)… they can see the writing on the wall too..

Well… I heard they have one person assessing the upcoming junior talent whilst the likes of Canterbury have seven …i don’t know the process of how they would get more people into these roles but you would assume the Owners reps would need to approve it ?

when your replacement for Ezra at 6 is Ben Hunt, I’d say that’s a pretty stacked/talented squad.
Agree. As I said amongst the top teams.
What is a better spine.
Walsh/Cobbo. Papenhuyzen
Hunt/Mam. Munster
Reynolds. Hughes
Paix. Grant/Wishart

Similarly the starting pack has 2 of the best middles in Haas and Carrigan. These 2 are better than any 2 middles of any other club. But after them it's just kids and journeyman. Edges are decent but nothing special. No strike weapon and no defensive enforcer. When comparing their whole pack not just the best 2 but 8-17 to other sides are they any better than other top teams?
Add in their outside backs are no better on paper than any other side.

Normally they only give up on field after they give up at the front office. The next month will be telling.

He appointed assistant coaches for a Start, You might add he didn't get beat 64 Blot..
😂 You must've missed the 56-18 by Melbourne and the 50-12 by Canberra.

Are we gonna pretend that those aren't in the exact same category of loss?
- He's turned them into a better side than we are, You've obviously not watched them?
😂 Yet they're behind us and have a worse differential.

'Better Side'
The next few weeks will re-enforce that for those a little slow on the uptake.
- Coming from a higher base? Spoonbowl was a 'Higher Base' OK?
You honestly think I was referring to only last year? They played in a grand final three years ago... The same year we won our first spoon.

Are you drunk?
- More familiarity, There's plenty of new Guys - Plenty of young guys, Plenty been moved on this year
I didn't say there wasn't new guys. I said they've got more familiarity.

We started the year with two new wingers, a centre that barely played last year, a fullback that hadn't played since august, a brand halves combination that didn't start doing much together until January, which has been blown up 2 months ago. We started this year with a new prop pairing, a new edge pairing and multiple new faces on our extended bench.

....so yeh, more familiarity. Like, across the board.
Captain has been MIA most of the year,
Oh, And Ryles is 6 months into the job.
You can bang on about their standpoint in recruitment
'Bang on'. I made a correct point 😂

You can't just brush off context around your 'facts' as irrelevant and 'banging on' 😂

- Facts are we were seen as the club with the best recruitment for 2025.
Haha, you love 'Facts are' as a sentence starter aye... 😂

'Facts are...', 'we were seen as...' by whom? How is that a fact? Are IOU talking about somebody's arbitrary, subjective opinion kn our recruiting?
We've always got plenty of excuses, I love it....
I don't. We're due some luck.

We're due a chance to see most of our best side on the paper for a while.

Something we've barely seen.

Like, at all.

Latu and Luai, our likely and best halves pairing moving forward, haven't even started a game together yet and people want to lambaste everyone at the club re; recruitment.

Goodness me.

Parra lost their captain, have been without their best player (whos the 2nd or 3rd best half in the game) and were equally as bad as us last year.

They're not really doing any worse than us and probably slightly better all things considered.
They're below us.

That's literally the only metric that matters.

But we can add their worse differential to it if we want...

They've had more of their squad available for longer this year. They've been without Moses, granted, but that's about it.

What is about shitting on your previous employer that these pricks get off on? You develop and debut them early, and then release them early so they can earn buckets and still they wanna shite on us.
My boss when I was an apprentice was a good bloke, the next was Jim Masterton for about 18months, both taught me a lot and set me up for a life career, I still love them both for it.

June 30 is the deadline for mid season signings external to transfer to a club. Players can be upgraded or signed for next year at any stage.
