I’m interested around the timing of this…. Does this mean some good news I wonder ?

If he has nothing new , it’s gunna be a long interview for him ..
Wont be anything we.dont already know imo.....if there was some announcement or positive news theyd save it for BTR pod or members email.
It will be PR and a benji rescue...just hope we dont cop a hiding a day earlier

Yeah ..you are likely right about no news

Geez … I mean we have seen him try and spin the TDS matter … he has struggled there … they are gunna be kicking him … I’m interested to see how much fight he has still got in him…in his prime he would be able to bat it all away …

Bit hard comparing comparing us to Canterbury Gus signed a real coach, built a reasonable roster, didn't sign reserve graders like Hunt n Bird, wouldn't be calling plenty of us who don't have any confidence in the Richo and benji love affair getting this rabble anywhere near being a semi final team, bed wetters
From the full starting side, who is a reserve grader apart from Seyfarth and maybe 1 or 2 bench guys?

You've all wet the bed within 12 months.

the ironic part is they literally did sign a whole roster of reserve graders. that was the whole point to their recruitment .

Exactly.

It's been a remarkable roster overhaul which includes huge cash in the bank for further recruits within 12 months.

Juniors and the other side shows around the club don't change overnight either. It's a long and patient road.

I will concede, there are coaching questions that need to be answered on a results basis only, but by comparison to previous years, we are far far far more competitive in games with a brand new team.

It goes to show how little respect people have for how long things actually take to fix. It's astounding to think, after all these years of playing musical chairs with coaches, that we think that is the gold standard to fix things for good at the club.

Remember, Demetriou got sacked last year for the performances Souths were putting up and now supercoach Bennett is 5 losses on the trot. There is absolutely no balance or perspective when discussing the team at all.

If everyone takes a step back and looks at today vs 12 months ago, hopefully they see us moving in the right direction. The path to success is windy, not linear. Being upset about 1 or 2 things along the way takes the focus off the bigger picture.

My issues are around how bad some functionality of the team still looks …particularly in attack … I would have thought this should be looking a lot better 2-3 year into the tenure ?

yeah don’t let Gus’ “pathways” let you think that’s the reason they are doing so well. That takes five years to pay dividends. Their roster literally has 3 juniors. They just recruited fringe first graders from across the league and put systems in place. It’s good coaching.

A rookie coach took the Warriors from 15th to 4th in one year with a similar few purchases…its not always a 5 year thing

I watched the WNRL sharks parra game last night.
Tony Herman and Georgy boy respective coaches had their teams ....on occasion...attacking better last night (rd.1 as well) than we have looked at times this year

Don’t know whether to laugh or cry about that ..

In fairness, it's a new team from 2-3 years ago and we lost Galvin midway through this year.

I think it's fair to criticise towards the end of next year if things haven't changed.

By that time, he's coming to the end of his contract anyway.

Also, be prepared for lots of good players to leave if they do give him the bullet. I hope we don't knife the coach, then criticise the club for losing good players because of it, because a new coach will be another "rebuild". We've seen it all before.

I’m on board with keeping him another year …not that I love his coaching , but with his sway over the players , particularly Luai - Iis not something I want to mess with at this particular time

But I think they will need a big leap on the field to keep him past that …like 12 wins… and I say that more out of hope rather than confidence it happens …

I think he has had enough time by then and Richo will need to move in a different direction …. Just my opinion of course ..
