That 1st set told the story:

"Emma Raducanu saves 7 set points against Aryna Sabalenka and holds for 5-5 in the 1st set at Wimbledon.
13 minute game.
Absurd. Just refusing to go away."
But the champion Saba held strong.

This thread needs more Thommo!!

🇦🇺
Thommo’s career best Wimbledon run continues into the second week
👏
💪

👉
Takes down
🇮🇹
Luciano Darderi 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
From barely moving after Queens to a career-best week at the All England Club. Incredible run.
💥
And hits the Hewitt celebration towards the man himself courtside

“I’m not anywhere near 100 per cent and I’m still fighting my arse off every point.
“I’m busting my arse… and you look at the umpire and all they’ve got to do is call a let or get the score right, and they can’t get it right. It’s frustrating.”
🇦🇺
Jordan Thompson has continued his inspirational Wimbledon week with his most convincing victory yet, setting up a date with the fifth-seed for a shot at an unthinkable quarter-final berth.

After just one game on the singles court today in his singles defeat to

🇦🇺
Rinky Hijikata hit the doubles court with partner

Aleks Vukic had the
🇪🇸
Carlos Alcaraz experience at Wimbledon in 2024 and the
🇮🇹
Jannik Sinner experience in 2025.
👉
And he shared his view on the two challenges:
"[Carlos and Jannik] are definitely at least two levels above everyone else. And it's pretty evident.
“Carlos gives you more free points…you can breathe a little bit. Jannik, it’s just suffocating.
“[Jannik] exposes his opponents' weaknesses very, very easily. It’s like, I go back to the towel and I feel like I'm in a boxing ring, in the corner, and I just need to go back out there, because it’s the only way. If I'm at the towel, I feel like I'm shying away from it, so I'm like, okay, just get back out there and see what happens.”

What a great battle.
Just a pity we didn't get to witness another set but it was 1h38m of pulsating tennis.
Well done Elise Mertens
